Cerenia is given orally. For motion sickness, this medication can be given once a day for up to two days in a row. Dogs should not be fed 1 hour prior to giving Cerenia. Give Cerenia 2 hours prior to travel. Do not wrap the tablets tightly in fatty food such as cheese or meat, since this may keep the tablets from dissolving and delay the effect of Cerenia. Always follow the dosage instructions provided by your veterinarian. If you have difficulty giving the medication, contact your veterinarian. This medication should only be given to the pet for whom it was prescribed.

5 stars for the medication, not so happy with Petco I had no idea that your Pharmacy is closed on Saturday and Sunday and you don't process orders as per one of your employees.

Reduced Ginger's vomiting

This along with pepcid is giving my Ginger her life back from GI issues due to CKD. Not sure what I would do without it. Warning it's a little bitter, so i crush the dose into a small gel cap and administer the gel cap directly in her mouth. Some people can put the gel cap in food and the cats will eat it up. My Ginger isn't that food motivated to eat the capsule accidentally.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Stopped my dogs from getting car sick when we go on a trip. My daughter lives in Edmund, OK and I live in Houston TX. My little dogs would get very car sick and this is what my Vet prescribed and it works great.

How many pills are actually in a box? I see there are 4 pills per card, but how many cards are in a box? I saw somewhere where there were 40 tablets in a box. Need more than 4 because this will be an ongoing medicine for my dog. Thank you!

  1. Only 4 pills and 1 card per box if I remember correctly.

What's the size and age range for this medicine?

  1. My dog is 8.7 pounds. The vet figures the weight of your dog or cat and how much of the pill they get. I get the 24mg because it’s more cost effective  as RB gets 1/4 of the pill. then I get 4 doses.

Is this pill for dogs, harmful for a cat?

  1. No. I have both my dog and my cat on Cerenia. But you must make sure to give the correct dose prescribed by your vet. The dose will not necessarily be the same for the cat and the dog.
