Great Fountain. Impossible to find Filters for it.

I have two small dogs and a cat who vastly prefer running water and the previous two water dishes just weren’t cutting it. One was a gravity bowl that was nearly impossible to clean and felt unhealthy to keep using. The other was a cheap Temu fountain that worked decently, but had to be refilled multiple times a day because it was too small for all three to use. This bowl solves both those issues, it’s easy to disassemble with large pieces so it’s easy to clean without any hard to reach places. It also contains more water than the previous two bowls combined, so there isn’t the constant need to refill it every day. My cat also seems to prefer it a lot more. I don’t know if it’s the difference in spout or the two tiers of the upper bowl, but I’ve never seen her drink from the other bowls as much as she has from this one. It’s honestly a massive relief because I’ve been worrying about her water intake as she’s getting up in age and I don’t want her developing kidney issues.

I've had the same drinking fountain for my cats (the smaller version) for 2-3 years before I bought this larger one for my dog and I am still using the original one for my cats but my dog drinks out of it and both my pets drink out of the large one. It encourages them to drink water. If you are having to fill it up often, that means it is doing its job of hydrating your pets. It is not a limitation of the fountain that you have to fill it up often if you have bigger dogs who like to drink from it and often. Even when the water gets low, the fountain makes noise and alerts you to put in more water. In the entire time I've had my water fountain (8+ years), I have never had the pump burn out. I suspect if you leave it running for more than a day without refilling the water, it will burn out but it should be part of the routine to give your pets fresh water each day if not after meals anyway. Also, it's important to do a thorough cleaning of not only the fountain, but the pump to keep it free of hair and debris that pets leave in the fountain when they drink. The parts are all easy to clean, but wish they made one with stainless steel. The plastic top does get grimy if you have hard water, but they also sell the hard water filters too, so that has helped with the buildup of minerals along the drinking surface. However, stainless steel would be better for dogs as they tend to get acne easily from drinking out of plastic bowls.

Bought this for my 2 dogs and 3 cats. When you start hearing the water trickle, add more water to the top and it will flow in. 6L is a little less than a gallon and a half of water. So just keep an empty milk bottle rinsed out well for the purpose! Letting ANY water fountain run dry will make the pump burn out. This one making noise when it needs refilling is a huge help, as I burnt out my last 2. The enormous reservoir means I only have to add once or twice a week, too! I also like the dental tabs and will be ordering more.

I received this as a gift and didn't realize it doesn't have a shut off if the water level gets too low Having to fill it daily, or remember to unplug it. So far finding it not easy to refill. Just read instructions on manufacturer's website and see if that helps
