Is it safe to give my dog a carprofen tablet? It was prescribed a while ago for stiff joints and I didn't give her any. She has an upset stomach (had the runs) and seems to have tummy pain.

Its for a stray dog. He had swelling at one side on his neck region & pain at that part.He was not eating only drinking. I gave him pentid 400 for 10 days(6 days he ate morning evening rest only 1ce a day) Now swelling is reduced & he started eating.Should I continue giving pentid for more days?
