They are nearly square, +/- 18.5" x 19". I can't say how much warmth they retain, but one of my cats does like them. They soften up and fray a bit after a few times through the washer (on the Hand Wash setting), so they can take the shape of whatever box or basket you put them in.

Carolina pet co makes these in two colors white and an all grey.I believe petco only sells the white. I have both.they are cat magnets.

Sure you can put it on the recliner seat, however, you would need to remove it before a person sits on the chair. The fur clings to the pad but if a person sits on it after pets have been on it the person would end up with some fur coming off the pad and on to their clothes

I had a long- haired Persian for 12 years, she loved sitting on these. She was a magnet for static, as am I. Not once did either of us hear a crackle or get static from these pads. I now have a short- haired tortie. She doesn't get any shocks either, at least not from the purr-pad. Given the fact that she's a youngster, she more apt to be giving me shocks, but of a good kind! These pads make no noise when the cats lay down or move around on the pads. All my cats love these pads and use them a lot!
