Hey... why is this in the Freshwater Sand, Gravel, & Substrates section of your website? Before I noticed it's for saltwater aquariums... I just spent 60 bucks on sand I can't use in my freshwater aquarium.

No, I do not recommend this product.

So I understand the bag says don't rinse and use the included clear packet, this works first day. AND ONLY ONLY if you will never move or touch the sand again. After 24 hours, I was adjusting the sand and boom my new aquarium looked like it is filled with half water half milk, I will be adding cichlids, and cichlids are known for messing the sand, so it was going to be a white mess for long time Now even my FX4 filter was able to clear the water, it got clogged with the white stuff from the sand, I had to remove about 70% of the sand from the aquarium, rinsed for about 2.5 hours. TWO AND HALF hours from running water till was relatively clear. At this point I had to clean my FX4 from all the white water just after ONE day. I am waiting now to clear again and have to change water and clean the filter for the next couple of days till I get this dreaded milky substance out It is very misleading and people who say they didn't wash it, yeah sure if you want to wait a month till your aquarium clears be my guest. So RINSE RINSE RINSE!!!! before adding it to an aquarium, it is a nightmare on my new 100 gallon now and regret not rinsing it from the beginning, I don't care about any bacteria in the sand, it should be filthy as it is, and your tank will cycle no matter there is bacteria or not in your sand bed.

No, I do not recommend this product.

My tank had been well established for over a year and I have put live sand into my tank before after the fact. However on the second morning putting this into my established tank, I woke up in the morning to almost $400 of fish and live stock all dead. The tank somehow recycled after putting in this new bag. My Nitrates and Nitrites skyrocketed overnight and all my beloved fish children were dead. Needless to say, I was very depressed and upset. There is no warning on this package of such and even the fish stores in the area, deny this as a common occurrence. I feel very misled.

No, I do not recommend this product.
