Got this leash for a pup new to leash training, and it’s been amazing! I love the spring inside — it makes it easy to maintain control. The dual clasp makes it simple to shorten or lengthen the leash, and it’s been super convenient and a great investment. I also love that I can use the second clasp to hold things like a claw clip, or to attach her to a tree or pole when needed. Really great a leash!

This product has proven to be a Godsend. It is very durable, easy to use, and certainly worthy of the Carhartt name. I am sure that it is going to last as it is made of very durable material and well sewn. The fasteners have proven to be very useful and easy to use; especially in the initial training of a breed that is infamously stubborn. It is definitely a must buy. Paired with the Carhartt No Pull Vest, it a winning combination.

I like the leash and the shock absorbing design. The clasp separates very easily especially when using it with the carhartt harness. Have to use a safety tether with it to make sure our pups don't get loose.

I thought I loved this leash until today. The spring loaded clip failed and my dog got loose? running in and out of the street. About had a heart attack? I thought I hooked it wrong the other day the first time it happened??? but I hooked it again and with little force it released? terrible. !!!

4 stars because there can always be improvement. This leash really is very nice. I used it today for the first time and it's well made. It has a cushioned grip on one end of the leash with a clasp that is available, and on the other is another clasp for the collar. The shock absorber is really nice and seemed to help with my dog's pulling. Overall the leash was great to use and felt very well made.

I have the harness and this leash for my husky/pyrenees mix. It's very cute but terrible product design. The clasp opens when he tugs. He eventually broke it. Do not recommend for bigger breeds!

I have had this leash for around a year and a half and did not have a problem with it until tonight. As I was walking my dog, the leash just BOOP disconnected from her harness. We live in philly so she bolted across the street and it created a really dangerous situation. Commenting to let people know that the leash is NOT a buy it for life product, the metal in the latch will give way for potential unhookings and future run-aways.

I love this leash. It has a padded handle; it is way more reflective than similar leashes; the shock absorbing feature is perfect for my dog: she is an 88 pound Rottweiler cross who will stop suddenly to sniff something while I'm still walking, so now I get a warning by feeling increasing pressure rather than my arm getting pulled suddenly; it has another handle built in ahead of the shock absorber for when I need to keep my dog close by; and the best feature is the trigger claw clasp: it doesn't cut my thumb like so many other clasps with a slide that exposes very sharp edges on the shank. The only improvement that I would suggest would be to add a tab that I could insert into a seatbelt buckle in the car.
