No it can not! They bedding is not made of all natural materials so it can not be thrown in the garden. It has dyes in it. So if you throw it in the garden it is bad for your plants and will not decompose. If you want a bedding that can decompose get the care fresh natural stuff. It has no dyes or artificial stuff so it will decompose. I use it for my two guinea pigs and I compost it whenever I change their bedding.

The Colors Are Different. The White Is Easier To Spot Clean But Looks Messier. The Confetti Looks Fun And Looks Nicer But Harder To Spot Clean

My opinion is yes, it would be great for a hedgehog. This stuff keeps the pans dry-and that is very important, not to get any yuck on the animal. So I would say yes, it would work great. I bought three bags, and it's lasting a long time for two rabbits. It is a better price than in the stores too.
