Capstar (nitenpyram) is a fast-acting flea tablet for dogs and cats. A single dose of Capstar (nitenpyram) starts killing fleas within 30 minutes and achieves greater than 90% effectiveness against adult fleas within 4 hours for dogs and 6 hours for cats. This oral flea tablet treats flea infestations in dogs, puppies, cats and kittens 2 pounds of body weight or greater and 4 weeks of age or older. Capstar kills adult fleas that may cause flea allergy dermatitis. It is safe to give as often as once a day if your pet gets re-infested with fleas and can be given with or without food.

Does this have any grain or poultry ingredients? My dog is allergic to grain and poultry, and has some pretty bad fleas and I want to know if it’s safe to use on him.

- Capstar is only to be used for flea and ticks .Revolution will help ,but you need a prescription.

- once a day until you break the cycle of newly hatched fleas in your house which will re infest your pet. This kills existing fleas that are on the pet but there's no residual "killing" for the next day if new fleas hop on your pet.

- Capguard (the "generic" version of Capstar) is made in France. I'm not sure about Capstar. You may be able to google "where is Capstar manufactured?"
