Capstar (nitenpyram) is a fast-acting flea tablet for dogs and cats. A single dose of Capstar (nitenpyram) starts killing fleas within 30 minutes and achieves greater than 90% effectiveness against adult fleas within 4 hours for dogs and 6 hours for cats. I gave my cat 2 capstars and almost a week ago gave her the first month treatment of advantage 2. I still see a very very few fleas so can I give her one more capstar or would that be harmful
What is the total number of tablets for proper dosing of Praziquantel tablets for my cat who has tapeworms? She is 6 pounds, and five months old. I gave her one 23 mg tablet. Does she require two more doses every five hours?
My 2 cats have been on Revolution for years. Recently I've seen fleas on them and they scratch. Can I give a Capstar tablet to them along with their monthly Revolution? My one cat gets Phenobarbital for seizures. Would you suggest some other combination of flea prevention?
Hi, I just have a feral cat half a pill of Capstar. I split the pill in half and placed in food but he only ate the one half and left. He is about 10-11pds. Smaller cat. My question is that is this half dosage ok for this size cat or should I give it another pill in the next morning, feeding time. The half pill that he did eat was working in my opinion as the cat was scratching and licking for two hours after.
Hello, I was able to trap a very skittish stray cat and get him neutered and shots. I feed him every day and give him once a month oral flea medication (CapShield Plus, which contains 11.3mg of Nitenpyram and 204.9mg of Lufenuron). I just noticed he has tapeworms and was wondering what type of oral tapeworm medication I can give him that won't interact with the CapShield Plus. Thank you very much for your help, Robert Covich
I recently found a kitten about 4 months old that was infested with fleas. I bought Advantage II for kittens. 1 dose did nothing to the fleas. Gave him a Capstar pill and another dose of Advantage 2 days later and he still still a lot of fleas. It's been 2 weeks, is it safe to try another dose of Advantage?
hello! i had two cats living in separate homes until i could find an apartment. i finally brought them both home yesterday and found out one has some fleas his medicine wasn't taking care of. i bathed him and have been combing him regularly. however, as far as flea preventatives go, am i able to give him anything else like capstar or another dose of a better flea medicine (we gave him sentry for more than 6lb and he's like... 10)? and what should i do as far as cleaning? thank you so much.
I gave my cat Frontline plus 3 days ago. Have been on top of all vacuuming with carpet treatment for fleas. Gave him Capstar this AM as there are still some fleas. He his half Himalayan
I applied Frontline plus on my cats 2 weeks ago and I thought they were only 6lbs. Today i weighed them and learned they're actually 17lbs. Can i apply a new dose for their correct weight? We still clearly have a flea problem.
JUST ASKED ABOUT DOSAGE OF COMFORTIS FOR A 13 POUND CAT. MY VET GAVE ME 270MG (6.1 - 12 POUNDS) BUT IT SAYS IT SHOULD BE 590MG FOR A CAT 12.1 - 24.1 POUNDS. I JUST NOTICED THE BOTTLE SAYS RIGHT DOSE AND WAS GIVEN THE LOWER DOSE? I'VE ALREADY GIVEN HIM THE PILL A FEW DAYS AGO. HE IS IN GOOD HEALTH OTHER THAN THE FLEA ALLERGY. HE EATS GRAIN FREE AND IS ALMOST 9 YEARS OLD.
I gave my two cats a topical flea treatment about a week ago. I fear that it may have rubbed off or something because they're still scratching like crazy. Is it safe at this point to give them CapAction (or Capstar)?
What are the best flea and tick medication for our 16 pound mixed breed cat? Thank you!
