Dog food search

We went to the Petco we had previously gone to for the food only to be told they were out of it and would not be carrying Canada in the future. After a 10 mile drive to another Petco we found the food. When asked if they were discontinuing it, the employee said no. Confused why one store would have it and not all. We know which store we will be going to in the future.

Made my dog's allergies worse

While the ingredients in the food seem high quality, the food unfortunately made my dog's allergies much worse. After being on it for a few weeks she began licking her paws and legs like crazy and ended up with some inflamed skin on her paws. If your dog struggles with seasonal and food allergies I'd look for something different just to be safe.

Great nutrition with the needed grains

I have been using Canidae for years because my Great Dane has a sensitive stomach and skin. The salmon protiens are great for her stomach and coat! Plus, the barley adds the grains in so I don't have to add supplements. My Great Dane puppy is now on this version as well and doing great and gaining appropriate weight, whereas she struggled to gain on chicken and beef based foods. I have also fed this successfully to my Doberman. Overall, I think it is a great food for large and giant breed dogs! My veterinarian his pleased with the food choice for my dogs and my eldest Great Dane is approaching TEN YEARS OLD!!

I did a lot of research on limited ingredient diets grain inclusive. Canidae won for me no chicken beef soy. So far my frenchie has been on this food for 3 weeks and so far so good. The only Complaint is the crumbs from bag to bag.

Thank you for giving Pure Real Salmon and Barley a try for your dog. It sounds like what you are describing are kibble fines. Our pet food is made in small batches. The variation in color, size and shape that you may notice from bag to bag can be attributed to the natural key ingredients that we use in our products. We do not use any chemical binders to help form the kibble. To help reduce &#34;crumbs&#34; or &#34;fines&#34;, we use the latest technology to separate them from the kibble before packaging. If you haven’t tried already, you could always try to add some water to the kibble residue and use it as a topper if your pup prefers that. My 2 yr old French Bulldog has been scratching and rolling around on the rug and licking his paws alot. Would this food (Canidae) be good for him?

    My pitbull is allergic to proteins and Canidae salmon is perfect for him, his coat beautiful and we recently did blood work and his vet said his numbers are perfect. I always recommend canidae to everyone with a food sensitive dog.

    I switched over to this food since their regular food is out of stock everywhere. My two dogs absolutely loooooove this food. I transitioned them over by mixing this new dry food with their regular wet food. I've had no problems with the dogs and gas (vomiting or diarrhea). I will certainly buy this food again. (On a side note, I have been giving my dogs sweet potato for years now. Perhaps this further explains why they transitioned to this new food so easily).
