Disappointed in "best by" date

Hopperscout

Our pup loves this kibble, but I'm disappointed that the package we ordered online on February 17th has a "best by" date of April 4th as we're unlikely to finish a 22 lb bag by then. I think it's better to buy from the local Petco instead of online.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Been struggling with allergies for so long now. My GSD who is a year old is allergic to so many things and ingredients it’s been just…a lot. I had him on Natural Balance limited ingredient lamb dry food and he was always so uninterested in his food. This…he LOVES! Like he’s excited for mealtime and even starts jumping up and down. I’ve never seen him like this for food. So far so good on any kind of allergic reaction but it’s only day 2. Praying this works out for him.

Yes, I recommend this product.

My dog doesn't like dog food. This is the only one she will think about eating. I cook for her and leave this out free feeding. I switch this recipe with the bison and she likes them equally.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Switch Recipes

My dog has been eating Canidae for years now; ever since a store associate recommended it to me. I was looking for a grain free food. He was eating the Bison recipe and I notice within the last 6 month, he was eating as much. The store was out of the bison recipe and a store employee told me that typically, a dog can switch recipes a little easier than brands...so I tried this one and he loves it. Great product.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Would this be a good brand for My black lab mix. I have him on lamb and pumpkin but he has really bad toots and I think he really doesn’t like it Bc he won’t eat it That much he’s 8 months old and it’s honestly getting really expensive. Will this b good?

  1. Your question is a little confusing.  Are you feeding another brand of Lamb and adding pumpkin, but considering switching to Canindae Pure?  Pumpkin has a lot of fiber in it so that may be why your lab is having gas.  Otherwise, I've been feeding my dogs the various Canidae Pure flavors for several years.  One of my dogs gets gassy from the boar one so it's the only one I don't buy.

does it have rice in it

  1. No, it's grain free.  Rice is a grain.

Where is this food manufactured?

  1. As former petco employee, I can tell you that Canidae is a family owned company and the food is manufactured in Brownwood, Texas. I loved feeding my dogs canidae and it's a company I felt I could trust.
