I actually bought this for my dog...got him one few yrs ago when it was sold as a dog toy treat dispenser. He absolutely loved it!! The only treat dispenser that he didnt destroy in minutes. Lasted him for years but finally needed replacement. I couldnt find another one anywhere. Came across this ball listed for birds. Exactly the same as the dog one I bought. So excited that I bought 2!!! He is a very happy dog again!!

C'mon, Petco. Nowhere in the description does it say how big this is. The diameter is at least 3.5 inches, probably 4. I was expecting 2 inches or so, something a bird could pick up with a foot and play with. Returning it. But I'll give it 4 stars since it seems sturdy and might be good for a four-foot tall Macaw? Or a small pterodactyl?

I actually purchased the 5" size of this for our mini PIG, and it works perfectly so far. It's the right size for chunks of carrots or other veg, small grapes, etc, and is quite sturdy. I like that it takes a lot of twisting to open it so it doesn't open when being rolled, and love that it goes in the dishwasher to so gets very clean. Very pleased! Since this toy is marketed as a bird toy, I had a Blue Front Amazon for years, and I think this would have been sturdy enough to be a good toy for him.

I should have paid better attention to the demensions of this ball. It is huge and my parrot is afraid of the right now. Seems to be sturdy enough for all larger birds. I would recommend this to all.

I planned on my cockatoo having fun for several hours it took her about two and a half minutes to open the ball and I get all contents out. My other birds are too small for it and my double yellow-headed Amazon is it interested in it I'm sure it's a good too just not for my bird

I ordered the wrong size. I have an African grey and I ordered the large one which was a mistake. It is much too big for her. I gave it to the cat and she enjoys it.

Yes! This is safe for rats as foraging toys in the cage and in play time. You could put fruit and some food blocks like Oxbow block.

Can I use this as a replacement for the ball in the Cage Mount Buffet Ball?

This is a heavy good quality ball the 5" one, it was too heavy for my smaller parrots like a Amazon and a Conue. Ball does not come with any hardware or chain, its just the ball.
