Feeding the hummingbirds

Hummingbirds love this! I mix it with regular sugar to make it go further. Using this I know I am supplying the hummingbirds with needed nutrients.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Hummers don't like it. It precipitates.

I thought being able to mix a hummingbird nectar cold would be useful, because my cabin does not have running hot water, and since it's packaged in badges that make one quart each, this would have been very convenient. Bad idea. The birds really don't like this stuff. It remains turbid after mixing and precipitates out in the bottom of the feed. It does not offer any better in-feeder-life than regular sugar nectar. So, any "convenience" benefit is offset by those negative connotations. But the worst is: the birds really don't like it. So, I will be going back to regular high concentration sugar water.

Package said it makes 32 ounces. So I mixed 32 ounces. Didn’t get one hummingbird. Maybe too rich? Haven’t figured it out yet.

I bought this product several times this Spring and have had great results. It uses natural carmine to create the red color instead of artificial colors like other companies use. Great product!

Yes, I recommend this product.

This advertises no artificial ingredients but it has preservatives which are bad for hummingbirds. It advertises natural color and says that it has no dyes, but it has red dye#4 on the label, which also is bad for hummingbirds. I was quite disappointed to receive my order and read this in the label! I won't use it.

No, I do not recommend this product.
