This is a lesson for me personally. For years I've been using the oral version of this prescription and never once had a flea problem. I tried the topical version and now I see fleas. I did as instructed; combed my dog's hair back, applied it across her backside, and made sure she wouldn't rub it off or try to lick it. It's like only that specific area is protected and the rest of her is up for grabs. I've seen fleas on her feet and underbelly. For better assurance, the oral version is much better.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Specifically, how is topical solution administered? Is it put on one spot on the dog, or is it down the back? I have one dog that WILL NOT eat the tablet. I'm thinking about getting this solution instead.

  1. I also have a dog that would not eat the tablet she would eat all her food around no matter how small I made the pieces. So last year I used the topical Worked great! You should always use gloves to put it on so you don't get it on your hands (not for us) you empty the whole tube one spot on the top of the dog's neck where the dog can not get to and rub it in lightly with your gloved hand so that it doesn't run down the side of the dog neck.
