This filter media Chemi-pure Elite works great for keeping Ammonia & Nitrate down in a fish aquarium. This can be used in a fresh water or marine water tank and it will last for at least three months plus. Just rinse the bag off when you replace other filter material monthly and place it back in your canister filter. Since I started using Chemi-pure Elite I have never had to worrie about an Ammonia problem in my tank. This product is well worth the money.

A few hours in your filter and you will notice a difference. 24hrs in your tank and it will be 100% improvement. It’s the only chemical filter I use. And if you have drift wood or peat moss it will remove tannins that stain your water. Get 2, they can be cleaned and reused. 1:1 bleach/water soak 24hrs then rinse and soak another 24hrs in water with dechlorinator. Always keep a clean one

Chemi pure elite is perfect for reef tanks. I used it in my ten gallon nano and it made it crystal clear. The corals seems to have perked up as well.

this dosnt come in bulk and I have a 5 gallon betta and a 10 gallon reef. Can I open the bags and mix with chemi pure. How much would I use?

I have used a small amount of this and another small knee high stocking of purigan and have never had one problem or one speck of algae in my 19 gallon skimmer less tank! I have had it for almost 6 months; Also use polyfill on bottom of aqua clear!
