Our cat was raised with a self-cleaning litter box. About a month ago I bought a regular litter box and regular litter and she used that but we didn't like having to scoop it every day so we went bac to the self-cleaning litter box. The box is kept in the master bathroom and the cat has started soiling in the bedroom at the entrance to the bathroom. Why won't she use the self-cleaning box now?
My kitten is the anxious type in general. Today I decided to buy a litter box with a hood and door because she makes a mess in her other grey litter box despite having a large mat to capture the excess litter. I tried removing the lid for her so she can get used to it. What could I do to help her use her new litter box?
After my cat uses the litter box, he paws down the sides of the box. Is the litter too dusty for him?
I just adopted mittens from my local shelter on June 8. When I brought him home he was very scared. Now he has settled in our home. I found out that mittens doesn’t like scented litter and was refusing to use the litter box. So I bought him arm and hammer unscented litter. I put him in the litter box and he sniffed it and jumped out. What should I do now? He has been going potty in the shower, should I put the litter box in the shower?
Hey there! I've got a large Ragdoll (we think) cat that is roughly 10 years old who stopped using his litterbox for anything other than urine starting about 6 weeks ago. Always at night, when we're asleep, usually every 2-4 days, he goes on a binge poop, dropping of "presents" (ranging from hard/dry to wet/soft) on our front porch mat, my office rug, the hardwood floors along a wall, by the litterbox, on the rug by his feeder. No changes to clean litter situation or diet in over a year.
Hello my cat is an inside and out cat, I live in Florida. I have two litter boxes for him it is a clumping brand so it's an easy clean up, he has no problem using them. the question is the box I have put outside is clumping with out my cat using it, and when it does start to clump he doesn't use the one out side.... but still uses the box with the same litter inside. Which litter should I use out side?
How do I get a kitten to use a cat litter box
I have two one year old cats that are litter box trained and yesterday I got them a new litter box and it is covered. The old one was not covered, but the new one is bigger than the old one. They haven't used it very much and I don't know why. Is it because it's covered? How can I get them to start using it more?
In the past few days Dexter has pooped in the tub. He pees in his litter box regularly and also pooped in it. I though it wasn't clean enough so I've been extremely thorough with cleaning it. I use recycled paper litter and he seems to fine with it. Poops are normal and he's eating well and seems great. No new occurrences or meds. I live alone so the house is clean, quiet and stress free. No other pets either. He's been playing in the tub at night as well whereas before he would not enter it.
Hi. I have a issue that I am not sure what to do about. We got Om in February. He has had major behavior issues. Food aggression, which we have gotten under control but now he has a major litter box issue. He will sometimes use the litter box but most of the time he only person in it but will not poop in it. We have tried everything. Rewarding him when he uses it and disciplining when he does not. We're not sure what to do. I don't think it is a litter issue or a box issue (his own separate box)
Ok, scruff, my 3 month old previously feral kitten is not using the litter box to poop or pee. I purchased "CAT ATTRACT" LITTER. My question is : should I add dirt to this? I read on the box it's 100% guaranteed to work, but, she won't use it. Should I put her poop in there? What can I do? I am at my wits end. She just went to the vet, she's healthy, just stubborn!! We live in a 1 room house, very small.
I have trained my dog use a liter box when we are not outside the thing is if I take her out of her enclosure she will poop anywhere she wants on the fooor even thoe the box is their the enclosure is big enough for her bed a some space for her to play and then have her litter box she will poop in the box but if she is out she won’t go in the box and will poop anywhere and also if I make her space bigger as in her enclosure if I make it big enough for her to run wont use the box what can I do
