- namfuak2, Thank you for your question. The PondBuilder Muck Buster Ultimate Pond Cleaner is a very safe product and will not cause harm to snails or other pond inhabitants. This can also be placed in a pond where animals will drink the water.

How long does it take for Muck Buster to clean a pond My pond is small, about 6 x 8 ft and about 2.5 feet deep. Also do you consider algae muck?
- I started using Muck Buster instead of another product (S.A.B) last summer. Get more for your money. One 2.5 lb bottle lasted 2 months 3 1/2 weeks. Using it 1 x a week ( 3 Tablespoons 1 x a week ) for an 800 gallon pond. I also use algafix and Ben. Bac. 1 x a week.

- Thank you for your question. We sent it along to the manufacturer and they had this to say: Great question and the answer is yes. When working with a beneficial bacteria such as PondBuilder Muck Buster or even the Pond Cleaner bacteria they are natural enzymes causing no harm to us as humans. When mixed with water- practically undetectable and although results vary, a muck layer will typically be removed in one seasons time. It is important to understand slim/algae growth on liner is very typical as minerals deposit on liner allowing a rough surface for the plant matter and organic debris to take hold-even Muck Buster may have a tough time getting all the liner clear and safe for pedestrian traffic. It is advisable to establish a safe walking area to avoid any fall. My swim pond also benefited from a UV light and periodic soft bristle brush cleaning. However do not scrub liner w/o immediately using an algae product like AquaFix to help kill off floating spores of algae.

How long will a supply of 2.5 lbs last for a 500-600 gal pond in Florida?
- A 2.5 lb bottle of Muck Buster lasted me 2 months and 3 1/2 weeks in our 800 gal pond. I use two other products each week with it , Algaefix and another Ben. Bac.

I have a pond that is approx 25 ft x 20 ft and 4 ft deep. Your products show use in # of gallons. How do I determine the gallons?
- One cubic foot = about 7.48 gallons - so, for your pond the 2000 cubic feet = 14,960 gallons - a small lake!

Muck cleaning
- If it's duck sludge, this product does not remove it. I'm still using the product but I have to completely drain, clean and refill the pond every five days or the ducks won't even get in it. I don't have any idea what it does with just normal pond muck.
