- Hi Jimmy, While our senior and mature recipes are formulated for pets 7 years and older, we do not necessarily believe a pet becomes a senior as soon as he or she turns 7 years old. We recommend evaluating your pet's body condition and activity level when determining if a senior recipe is appropriate. If your pet's activity level has begun to slow down and your pet is showing signs of aging then a mature recipe is probably best. However, if your dog remains active and healthy, and is not "acting his/her age" then we recommend continuing to feed an adult recipe. We hope this information is helpful!
