Size of small breed kibble has gotten larger

Small dog

It appears that the size of the kibble has gotten larger than it was when I tried this product two bags ago. I have a small dog with few teeth and I am not happy with the most recent purchase. Either you lack consistency or you have used kibble more appropriate for larger dogs. Think I will need to switch to a different brand. Disappointed!

My dog can breathe so much better since eating this dog food for the past 3 months straight. She now isn’t constipated and has a stool at least 2 to 3 times a day. She is hydrated and looks so much more energized and you can tell that she’s feeling better for one because she’s getting better hydration and she loves eating now as her food has a smaller softer texture and I am so so happy that my turns y is getting the best brand of dog food and the best flavors to eat also!!!! Her coat is even softer and shinier and she’s not itchy or scratching anymore which amazes me!!! I highly recommend that you get this for your fur baby to try and I guarantee once they try it once they will be belong during meal time for more !!!!

Blue Buffalo is the best dry food available at large grocery stores. The price is worth the quality! It smells appetizing to my fur babies and has mostly clean ingredients, which make it suitable for my babies! Would recommend!

Unfortunately my peke throws this food back up so I'm not sure what the issue is. He is 8 and has never thrown up before.

First off, I was not compensated for nor asked to write this review. I am doing so to try to let other families who have a dog with food sensitivities and/or allergies know about our experience with this product. Our Westie/shi tzu mix is almost three. He began to be very picky with his food about a year and a half ago, had loose stools, would at times vomit and then ultimately began to have lumps under his skin. We feared for the worst regarding the lumps, but he wasn’t even two yet, so we were optimistic that he wasn’t ill. We had one lump removed and our vet had it examined to find that it was not cancer (thank God) but was an inflammatory problem that affected his subcutaneous skin cells. That started us on the search to find what would trigger his immune system. We went through the elimination process- weeks/ months at a time- of eliminating various proteins, grains, - chicken, beef, etc. from his foods as well as finding ones he would eat. It was a long process. I even went through a period where I said, “ this is too much, I’ll just make his food”. Very time consuming that period!! Anyway, after we nailed down the fact that our little fella probably has numerous allergies, but that yes, chicken and beef exasperated his immune response, I found Blue Buffalo Basics Small Breed Turkey and Potato. He loves it and I can say after about 6 months of being on this food his lumps are completely gone. His stools are well formed (no more diarrhea/ loose). I don’t know if this food is the singular reason, but there is no doubt it has contributed to his improved gut and immune system health. Our trusted vet is very supportive of this company and this product, so that is also a big plus for us! I just found the canned version, too, and mix both for him daily. I cannot tell you how thankful we are to have resolved this issue for him. Thank you Blue Buffalo!

We have an older dog that has been suffering with stomach issues for a couple months now. The vet had put her on meds but it continued so he suggested a change of food. I purchased this and thechange in this dog has been unbelievable. No more vomiting or gagging. She has her pep back and is bright eyed and happy again. Thanks Blue Buffalo.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Questions

1 - 3 of 3 Questions

Is this grain-free?

  1. No

My Maltese has ibd. He has been on hills prescription diet i/d for almost a year. Would this be ok for him to eat

  1. I would contact the company and also your vet and ask them. I know my Westie, Pomeranian (collapsed trachea), and Yorkie (skin issues) all love the turkey and potato small breed blue and do so well on it. They love the food and have no digestive problems. I do take their day’s allowance of food and spread it out to include breakfast, dinner and an evening snack. The snack was recommended for my dog who had pancreas problems. Sorry I couldn’t really help answer your question.

Is this a good choice for small dog who easily gains weight?  No sensitive stomach!

  1. My 2 miniature dachshunds have been on this food for several years without any weight gain. One weighs 9-10 lbs and the other weighs 15 lbs. It’s the only food they eat.
