What are the exact dimensions for the "senior large breed" kibbles compared to the "adult dog" size kibbles? Want to make sure they are larger than the "adult dog" kibbles. I want my dog to enjoy his food by chewing it instead of just inhaling it.

Shepherd mix, 9yrs old, recently determined "Senior" - he doesn't look or act Senior. We tried Merrick Senior but had too soft of stool, diarrhea and frequent bowel movements. We want to go back to blue - senior or adult breed recommendation? thoughts?

- They're little flat discs. I would say the discs are about the size of a nickel maybe but the shredded raw pieces vary in size.

how does the brand "blue" senior compair to "natural balance reduced caliorie formular?
- It Is similar in the reduced fat and calorie and increased fiber, but it does so much more for your senior dog. It, Blue, supports an older dogs immune system and joints and digestive health far more than a a low calorie formula.

we have a 10 year old lab and a 2 year old lab and they live on a ranch and so is the large breed senior one geared to control their weight?
- No, senior food is not for weight control, not on it's own. It's made to support an older dog's metabolism, which is slower, but it is also made to support their immune systems and to strengthen their joints. A large breed dog SHOULD be on senior food or senior supplements once they become seniors (7+). If you must feed both dogs the same food switch to a formula that is for "all life stages" like natural balance or another similar food. It will be ideal for both dogs and to support your senior dog you can start giving him/her a senior supplement so there is no need to buy multiple foods. Hope this helps!

- My experience with the big brand dog foods has been the same. I switched an adopted dog that was on Pedigree to Blue Buffalo Wilderness formula and the body odor she had disappeared within one week.
