We've only had" rescues" and some have come to us WELL.OVER FED . This has helped them lose weight ( safely !! ) and still provide the nutrition that they need to stay healthy and maintain a shiny ,glossy coat. We got a Golden Retriever and she was fed some generic farm brand ( her coat was dry and flaky ) . Once I got her switched over to Blue Buffalo Healthy Weight ,she learned how to eat at a slower pace , and her coat became soft and shiny and glossy . She lived until passing at 12yrs 8mos with a tumor on her spleen..We also found that when the dogs get up in age and aren't as active ,the lower calorie helps keep them from putting on weight and adding stress to their joints .We're currently on our 5th &6th rescue dogs as " family " . I'm NOT including the FOSTER DOGS WE'VE HAD. (That were saved from euthanasia, for the most UNBELIEVABLE REASONS YOU CAN THINK OF; lack of space, can't walk straight on a leash( had an ear infection) , .MORE DOGS WERE SAVED WITH GOOD NUTRITION.... BLUE BUFFALO. HERE ARE MY CURRENT PUPS ,.LOLA ( Black Lab. & Pepper( Australian Cattle dog).
