I purchased the dry Blue Buffalo for my 19+ year old dog and he was not exactly pleased but he would eat. I decided to mix (one spoonful with an 1/8th cup dry) the two twice a day. He cannot wait to get his food bowl down on the floor. He dances like he was many years younger. Hard to beat that reaction.

I have been ordering a case monthly of Blue Homestyle Recipe Chicken Dinner with Garden Vegetables for years for my dog. Over time my dog became bored with it. Since I trust Blue products I thought of exchanging it at the my nearest Petco to a case of Blue's Stew Country Chicken. Bingo !!! I hit a winner. The store handled the exchange flawlessly. The only thing you don't get credit for is the shipping. I'll just have to remember to exchange my auto delivery to Blue's Stew for my next delivery.

Good choice for a wet food

My dogs are very picky eaters. They do not eat much in the way of wet food. The Country Chicken Stew is a very nicely prepared food, with the contents of the vegetables, chicken, and gravy. But, my dogs don't eat as much as is called for considering their weight. They do eat it better than many other wet foods. I would give it a good rating as far as the wet food that I have experience with from different brands. I recommend it.

if a dog needs to be on a diet is this type if dog food any good

    If your going to add green beans as suggested dont used canned, that has lots of added salt, used frozen. As for the diet your dog is on it depends on what kind of diet. For weight you've got to watch your dogs calories which means all good counts. If its food allergies, then it all depends on the allergy. I'd be careful of how much veggies you add to any dog food as it can cause gas. Dogs with sensitive stomachs may get gas when trying new food too so try it slowly and give your baby at least 2 weeks before making any food food changes to see if the gas settles, before deciding if new food isn't working. Also, remember to slowly phase out old food by slowly adding in the new food in equal parts as you remove the old food until only the new food is there. I always transition my Cocker Spaniel slower than suggested because he has a sensitive tummy. Yes, this dog is good for dogs on special diets as long as your dog is not allergic or sensitive to the ingredients.
