Get this from Chewy!

Meegan E

My did has been on this food for quite some time I usually order from Chewy, they're great, never takes more than 3 days. But there is some sort of manufacturing issue and nobody has had it lately! I finally found it here at Petco and placed an order. It took 12 days to receive my food and it wasn't because they were waiting on a script, it was all in the shipping. I ended up having to give my pup regular food and the reaction ended us up with a vet bill and a round of Apoquel.

No, I do not recommend this product.

My Dog won't Touch the Stuff

After reviewing the impressive list of ingredients I was very excited to give the HF formula a try as my dog has severe food allergies and requires any proteins to be hydrolyzed. Unfortunately she finds it completely inedible. I've tried numerous times over the span of a month but she just won't go near it. I give it 2 stars for its impressive ingredients, but since getting my little girl to eat it is what counts...I Unfortunately can't give it any more.

Hydrolyzed Protein is gross. Dog threw it up.

Hydrolyzed Protein is gross. Dog threw it up. I was hoping that Blue Buffalo it would be better. It is similar to the others. It's dog food soaked in some sort of acid. I am using high-quality simple "novel" proteins without grains and with limited ingredients instead. I sympathize with dogs on Hydrolyzed Protein and hope it is temporary.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Bernese Mountain Dog

Maggie’s mom

We have a 2 year old Berner that all of a sudden became nauseous and would not eat. Fast forward 3K in testing and still no explanation on what that was about… Here I am writing a review for this product. While we are all still scratching our heads on what the heck- Maggie’s appetite has returned and the internal medicine vet has cautiously put Maggie on a hydrolyzed wet diet. Full disclosure, This stuff smells like “pond scum” and Maggie (who has refused regular dog food for 6 months) thinks it is the BEST thing ever. She literally starts bugging me when she has determined it is close enough to meal time for her to get fed. Bonus (and most importantly) all GI issues have resolved for now.

I"m sure it's great, dog won't eat it.

I"m sure it is fine but my dog won't eat it. There is such a shortage of choice this was all that was available. It is very rubbery and has to be processed further with a small amount of water in order for my dog to touch it and she barely does.

No, I do not recommend this product.

This food is great for allergies

Jj1278

I have been using this food for 6 months now. My dog was allergic to basically every food that I would give her. None of the Merrick foods worked and I tried other high end foods that didn’t work either. I switched over to the Blue Buffalo because it had salmon as the first and main ingredient. It also doesn’t contain many of the fillers that the other hydrolyzed foods had. I got doctor to prescribe this food and it worked. My dog no longer vomits and her allergies are mostly gone! This food really worked for her.

Yes, I recommend this product.
