Veterinarian authorized products ship only after Petco receives an authorization from your vet. We will not need to reach out to your vet or you if the authorization includes refills. When all available refills are used or the authorization expires, we will reach out to your vet to obtain a new authorization. For new authorizations, we will attempt to reach your vet for a total of 5 days. If your vet does not respond within 5 days, we will then reach out to you for a total of 3 days. If no response is given, the order will then be canceled.

Questions
Is cornstarch a part of the ingredients? Currently, my dog has been prescribed Z/D Hills brand &the first ingred is cornstarch. vet’s office said that dog food’s first ingredi is not the largest ingred-like it is for human food. Is true?
- I cannot answer this question because PetCo will not accept my veterinarian's credentials (US Army at an overseas base) and will not ship me this item. I buy from another company and use Purina HA and Royal Canin, which in my opinion are far better and safer products than Blue Buffalo.

Recently my vet suggested changing my Golden Doodles food from Blue Buffalo Freedom Chicken recipe to ZD Hills Prescription Diet due to reoccurring ear infections and licking of paws. She thought a digestive and allergy issue. Is there a comparable brand or food that may be a better fit? Although our Blue Buffalo is pricing, this price point for the ZD is not attainable for us to continue. She spoke of hydrolized protein being important but it's not economical either. Thank you!

Whats best dog food w/ zero chicken (no by product etc? has IBD (via ultrasound&GI Panel-no scope) We’ve tried almost all IBD vet food (RC HP, RC low fat GI, Hills...) I have researched & doc. his symps. Mia always has some kind of allergy so I was looking into getting BLUE Basics® Grain-Free Salmon & Potato Recipe For Adult Dogs but it doesn’t have any chicken or poultry by-product meals, corn, wheat, soy, dairy or eggs. Is that even healthy missing all of those food groups? Right now my dogs are on Blue buffalo freedom grain free.

I have a mature Australian shepherd female who is 8 years old and has had excess protein in her urine. Her vet recommended feeding her a dog food with LOWER protein percentage which is SO HARD TO FIND! I found a Blue Buffalo senior dog food that has 16% crude protein (vs 19, 22, 24% in other dog foods) but recently was advised that Blue Buffalo is not good for dogs.
