the fiber content is low. max 5%. most dogs with GI issues need a higher fiber content. I have to supplement this already expensive food with more fiber. this really needs to be addressed more extensively. this should be a better product.

Expensive dog food that works

EastCoast

This very expensive food works for our dog. Our lab had had intermittent diarrhea for about 3 months after trying probiotics, Tylosin powder and deworming. However, Petco held our only prescription for it and we were out of it. Customer service agents were either not aware of what a prescription dog food was or that is existed and gave me the number for the vaccination clinic to get the prescription so I could get it elsewhere. Vaccination clinic could not help. In the end, they said they could not give me my own dog's prescription so I could purchase it somewhere else. Is there a pet HIPA law? Even if there is, I am his owner so I think I could have access to a prescription for dog food. This all happened on a Friday night so our vet was closed and we were low on food so I was a bit concerned. I have switched to Chewy- faster delivery and better customer service. The agent was so helpful and figured out what we needed to do.

No, I do not recommend this product.

My Frenchie is pretty much allergic to air. I have tried many brands from top shelf to fresh food and BLUE HF has been a lifesaver. Not only does he really love to eat it, but his GI health has drastically improved. He no longer vomits from his food. 10/10

Is cornstarch a part of the ingredients? Currently, my dog has been prescribed Z/D Hills brand &the first ingred is cornstarch. vet’s office said that dog food’s first ingredi is not the largest ingred-like it is for human food. Is true?

  1. I cannot answer this question because PetCo will not accept my veterinarian's credentials (US Army at an overseas base) and will not ship me this item. I buy from another company and use Purina HA and Royal Canin, which in my opinion are far better and safer products than Blue Buffalo.
