My dog loves it, it looks healthy. Unfortunately it gives my dog gas. She has never had an issue till the day we tried it. I love Petco and how they take care of you when something does not work for your pet.

I switched my 10 year old bulldog to basics after a 9 month battle with skin inflammation and open wounds. My vet kept prescribing antibiotics, anti fungal meds and topical, and steriods and nothing ever helped his skin even a little bit!!! it was very scary and I thought I would lose him several times. I suspected it was an allergy but trusted my vets decision to rely on massive doses of meds at the time. After switching to raw for a couple months with no improvement, I decided to try a canned limited ingredient food as a last resort. I researched and decided on basics canned lamb. I didn't really expect much but after a few weeks I could see his wounds healing and no new blisters developing!!! This is his food forever, he is responding and HAPPY to eat again!!! He hasn't been on ANY medication for the last 2 months, ONLY limited ingredient canned lamb!!! He will never regrow his lost hair but I am confident he is feeling better now!

Yes, I recommend this product.

Finally, I've found a quality wet dog food my miniature poodle mix likes that doesn't make her sick, either vomiting or diarrhea. She had been on Royal Canin low fat but would pick at it (didn't especially like it) and I wasn't thrilled with the ingredients. Then the vet ran out and I happened on Blue Buffalo Basic by chance. She likes the lamb and the turkey and is doing really well on it. I'm happy, too.

No, I do not recommend this product.

My little guy had to have teeth extracted, sensitive stomach, and food allergies. My vet wanted me to try a prescription diet HP food. I decided to try this first. He loves it, He doesn’t throw it up, and he’s not licking and biting his feet. I’m very happy that I switched to this.

Do you provide a limited ingredient canned food for senior dogs that is geared more towards one with kidney disease?

  1. Blue Buffalo has one, but it is only available with a prescription. That is what I feed my dogs, and we have been pleased with it.
