Newer product to rival Rx food for cats with IBD.

WoburnDave

I brought this to my cat's vet and asked if this was a good food for my cat with IBD. She said the single protein only(duck) and potato were a good combination for an IBD diet. The peas in it are more of a concern for dogs with IBD than cats. Blue Buffalo is a good name and this newer offering is far more affordable than Rx foods on the wallet. Besides, my cat would sniff the Rx food and refuse to eat it. $3+ a can is hard to just throw away. This is $1.66 a can and If she continues to thrive eating it I will buy by the case. The same food, in dry form, is sold here also and has caused no stomach upset for my cat. Read the labels on the food if you have an IBD cat. More than 2 types of protein (eg, chicken-beef, duck-fish), are multiple protein foods that will not be tolerated well in the digestive tract.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Out of Stock Often

Why is this product out of stock so often? It leaves a pet owner scrambling to change over to a different food before they run out and wondering if it's been discontinued. It's so disappointing.

I bought this food for my cat because he has IBD and he needs limited ingredients diet. The first time I bought this food was during pandemic my cat loves this food and he didn’t have not problems eating this food. But I noticed recently blue Buffalo changed the recipe my cat still likes the flavor but this food make him his stool very soft and stinks so I’m not sure I’m going to continue to buy this food for my cat.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Duck is the best

Duck is the best for cats. My cats love eating duck they visibly love more than any other food. They have softer fur that feels more hydrated and their eyes seem brighter. They have more energy and seem happier too. Very highly recommend.

Is this pate or cuts?

  1. pate

Can this roll up for storage?

  1. Thank you for your question. The Dura-Ruff Indoor/Outdoor Dog Bed by Drs. Foster & Smith does not roll up for storage. This is a mattress bed that retains it's shape.

Can dogs get the zipper open and dig out the stuffing?

  1. Mine did. I didn't know how they did it.

washing

  1. Yes, it is machine washable. I dry it on low, but I dry everything on low.

Warranty

  1. I believe its warranty is 90 days. These are some very tough beds.

I see that this is water resistant but will it completely keep fluids away from the padding? I had to throw our last bed away when the cat peed on it.

  1. Hi Emmylee, I was just writing my review and saw your question. My pup has peed and thrown up on this bed a variety of times unfortunately and I am grateful to say that it has never leaked through to the inside liner. This is the exact reason why I would buy this bed again and again. I can easier take the inside liner/bed out and wash the cover.

Warranty

  1. We got one for our german shredder (german shepherd puppy) and he got a hole in it the first week. I called the company and they sent a packing slip so we could send it back and went on and sent us a new bed. I am pretty sure it has a 90 day warrant. Customer service was very nice and helpful!

Will this work for a pet pig that chews on everything and nests like nothing I have ever seen?

  1. Our chewing dog destroyed in minutes so I would not recommend

Can this bed be used on top of a doghouse floor heater?

  1. I would say No,because the bedding has a lightweight vinly lining bonded to the cloth side.I was hesitant to put it in the dryer but the label said you could on low,So I don't think it would be safe on a heated surface for long periods of time. Liken it to a vinyl electric heating pad, you wouldn't lay on that for extended period of time.I hop I explained this well enough.

We love our Dura Tuff dog bed. Liner is now flat (after several years). Can we purchase another one to insert into the shell?

  1. should be able to. Call the web site.
