The Fire Shrimp is a beautiful deep blood red that will stand out in any reef aquarium. This shrimp is generally hardy and suitable for many aquariums. The tank should have structures that offer caves and recesses for the shrimp to find refuge and establish a cleaning station. Do not be alarmed if you do not observe frequent solicitation and acts of cleaning especially later on since fish tend to experience fewer parasites in captivity. As a consequence of growth, shrimps regularly molt their exoskeleton (shell). During this molting period, the shrimp should be expected to become completely reclusive and may not be seen at all for several days; do not panic. Fire shrimps will readily accept a variety of foods. Their ability to detect food placed into the aquarium is keen, and they may temporarily leave their territory to grab items that are available. Though the Fire Shrimp is an active and thorough scavenger, it should be regularly provided a variety of target-fed foods.

ACCLIMATION: Avoid exposing new aquatic life to bright lights after opening the box. Turn off aquarium lights prior to floating aquatic life. Allow the sealed bag with your new fish to float in your aquarium for at least 15 minutes (but no longer than one hour) to ensure the water in the bag matches the temperature in your aquarium. A bacteria booster addition can assist with the addition of new aquatic life. Petco offers free water testing in store to determine if your water is safe for the addition of new aquatic life. DIET: A well-balanced diet consists of a variety of flakes, pellets, freeze-dried and frozen foods, depending on the species. FEEDING: Feed sparingly and no more than fish can eat in 1-2 minutes. Overfeeding can quickly foul the water, especially in smaller aquariums.
If we need to contact you for any reason about your order, shipping of your package may be affected. Once your order is placed, you will receive a confirmation email with your order summary. Orders are subject to verification of payment information by phone or email. We ship for arrival to the customer Tuesday through Friday and Saturday for an extra charge where available.

I got my vanilla lobster home yesterday and the first thing I noticed was that he was raising his tail sharply and almost stumbling around. I woke this morning and he was on his side. It's a 55 gallon tank and has only been established about two days but we used the instant start bacteria treatment and the rest of the tetras, bichir, parrot fish are doing ok. Any thoughts?

I got a red barb a couple months ago and I thought it was just a little bit deformed. But today I looked at the fish and it has a white thing that came out of its skin where I thought its body was the most crooked. So I would like to know maybe what the white thing is and if I should put the fish in quarantine.
