The Blackspotted Dogface Puffer is very intelligent and has been known to recognize its feeder and perform small tricks. Be aware that this fish can be semi aggressive and is known to nip on tank mates' fins. When choosing tank mates be sure to pick other semi aggressive fish that can stand up to the puffer. Aggression can be amplified in smaller tanks. The Blackspotted Dogface Puffer is not considered reef safe since they prefer to snack on sessile invertebrates. For continued health provide a varied diet of meaty foods multiple times a day. Since they have teeth, the Blackspotted Dogface needs to be fed foods with a shell to keep them from overgrowing. The Blackspotted Dogface Puffer lacks pelvic fins and mostly depends on their pectoral fins to move around. They will grow to be about a foot in size full grown adults will need around 150 gallons; however, you can get away with smaller aquariums when they are juveniles. This puffer is tannish gray with yellow fins and black spots.

ACCLIMATION: Avoid exposing new aquatic life to bright lights after opening the box. Turn off aquarium lights prior to floating aquatic life. Allow the sealed bag with your new fish to float in your aquarium for at least 15 minutes (but no longer than one hour) to ensure the water in the bag matches the temperature in your aquarium. A bacteria booster addition can assist with the addition of new aquatic life. Petco offers free water testing in store to determine if your water is safe for the addition of new aquatic life. DIET: A well-balanced diet consists of a variety of flakes, pellets, freeze-dried and frozen foods, depending on the species. FEEDING: Feed sparingly and no more than fish can eat in 1-2 minutes. Overfeeding can quickly foul the water, especially in smaller aquariums.

Hi, My fish has white spot which is expanding. It also has something around mouth. Spot looks white with small dots in it. I thought it is an ich outbreak. Currently tank is treated with Sera omnipur (30% of recommended dose). It is big pufferfish. thanks for your help Nikola

Hi my baby turtle has a black spot on its shell.
One of my parrot cichlid has developed black eye which I don't seem to understand as to what is it exactly. Eye is swollen and a bit out of its socket. Previously it was white but now changing to black color. Due to this fish is hiding continuously and other fishes are pinching it.
