Heidi and Ginger love the low salt chicken broth over their Diamond Naturals dog food. It doesn't take much to soften their food. I understand Chihuahuas need to have food down more often than large dogs. Will twice a day for both dogs not to exceed the number of suggested calories for Ginger be sufficient? Blue dosnt really like his dog food much. Have tried 4 differnt types of dog foods and we are currently on purina he just wont eat it plain the only way he will eat it is if i mix a little vegetable oil in with it and/or add rice or meat to it. Only when he is really hungry is when he eats its regular and dry but even still not all of it he kinda looks on the skinnyier side not underweight or anything though. Any tips on what to do for him to want to eat more and not be as picky?

This is Kyro, my 1st dog I've had for 7 months. In 7 months he went from 75lbs to 85. Was feeding 2 cups twice daily of "Diamond All Natural Beef Meal & Rice" with piece of Roast Beef with a teaspoon of some kind of gravy & 1 Milkbone, 1 bully stick, 2 Grain fee treats daily. I cut back to 1 cup with Roast beef twice daily. I don't want to starve him but I want to keep his defined stomach. He won't eat unless the Roast beef & gravy is in his food. Bag of food says 4 cups daily. Any suggestions?
Looking at some of the extra articles I found Pedigree ground canned food has a 1 & 1/2 star rating. I'm feeding Ginger 2 tbsp Canned over 1-2 cups Diamond Naturals dog food. Is the dry food ok, without Pentobarbitol and other contaminants? Suggestions on something wet to soften her food?
