Dirty feeders spread disease. We recommend disinfecting your bird feeders once a month in winter and more often in hot and humid weather. Soak all parts in a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and water. Use a bird feeder brush to brush away grime inside the tube. Then remove any hardware and clean with a solution of mild soap and water, rinsing thoroughly. Refill when completely dry.

I've had two of these side by side in my backyard. When the feeders are low on birdseed I find a small bird stuck inside the feeder. Today a bird was dead inside. This needs to be taken off the market!!!!!

Hello Kathlerine,
Thank you for contacting Classic Brands. I am truly sorry that this has happened. Feeding wild birds can be truly rewarding for both the birds we feed and for us as observers. Although it is extremely rare that a bird will get its head stuck in a feeder port and perish, it is always a deeply sad event.
Sometimes when a bird feeder gets low a bird will work extra hard to reach the seed through the ports and, even though it is extremely rare, it could get its head stuck in the fight to reach the seed. I would recommend keeping your seed levels high. By keeping your feeders as full as possible and continuing to be a reliable source of food, you are contributing to thousands of birds’ survival. Keeping wild birds safe and happy is our number one priority. Thank you for telling us what happened.
If you could please reach out to us via email at drollbird@drollyankees.com we would like to touch base and make this right.

This is my second Belle Fleur 15" Seed Tube Feeder. See photo: To fill, lift the lid and swing it to the side, pivoting the hanger wire on the plastic shaft. My winter visitors to this feeder have included Black-capped and Carolina Chickadee, Carolina Wren, Red- and White-breasted Nuthatch, Downey Woodpecker, Northern Cardinal, Goldfinch, Tufted Titmouse, House Finch, Red-bellied Woodpecker, Song Sparrow, Yellow-shafted Flicker, Slate-colored Junco, Red-winged Blackbird and others.

Yes, I recommend this product.

I purchased two bird-feeders which were as advertised and were received on time. It took me quite sometime to figure out how to fill the bird-feeders, as they cam without filling instructions. First, you need to gently pull on the bottom perch until the two prongs pop out of the holes and then rotate the perch completely around so the bottom (inside the tube) is on the top, then twist and pull on the bottom insert until it comes out of the tube. Next, you need to gently pull on each of the remaining perches until the two prongs pop from the holes and rotate each one completely around so the bottom (inside the tube) is on the top. Be careful not to use too much strength pulling the perches out too far from the holes or twist them too hard as they can break/crack as one of mine did Once you have pulled out and rotated each perch you can fill the feeder without making much of a mess Replace the bottom insert into the bottom of the tube making sure you line-up the holes on the insert and the tube. Then you can rotate each perch back into its original position I recommend taking the feeder(s) outside before turning the perches back to their original position, The final process of turning the perches back can be messy - i could not figure out how to rotate the perches without losing some of the bird feed from the tubes.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Am i supposed to push in the feeding parts? I don't see anyway for the birds to get at the seeds.

 1. You shouldn’t have to alter the feeder. The birds should be able to get at the seed from the opening above the perch. It depends on which feeder you have. If you have the feeder for Thistle seed the opening will be smaller and not allow for feeding larger seed like sunflower seed.

How do I select a color?

 1. Thanks for your questions. This product is packaged as an assortment and is available in red and green. Petco will select the color upon placing your order.
