Baytril tablets are given orally. Provide plenty of fresh water for your pet to drink. Do not give within two hours of giving dairy products. Always follow the dosage instructions provided by your veterinarian. If you have difficulty giving the medication, contact your veterinarian. Use all of the medication prescribed, even if your pet appears well. If the entire course of treatment is not given, the infection may recur or worsen.
Talk to your veterinarian about what tests and exams may be necessary while your pet is taking Baytril.

My dog has antibiotic resistant Pseudomonas on a toe. 2 weeks Synulox and 2 weeks Baytril did nothing. Toe amputation was done. Wound broke down and rest of toe needed to be amputated. Post op I was told to give Baytril 50mg, 1.5 tablets (75mg) ONCE a day. Dog is 22kg. I was given 21 tablets (enough for 1week at 2x a day or 2 week at 1x a day). I think I should have given the Baytril 2x a day. Am I right?
My 12.5 pound dog had his anal glands expressed at the vet's and green discharge came out. Cytology was positive for neutrophils. He was prescribed 136mg of Baytril daily for 3 weeks. He has taken 2 days of the medication vomited 6-8 hours afterwards on each day. Is this considered an appropriate dosage for him?
Hello, my 12 y/o dog was diagnosed with open pyometra and was prescribed 34mg of Baytril given twice daily. The medicine makes her a little nauseous and with her full stomach area, it has caused her to lose any interest in food. We have resorted to blending chicken with low-sodium broth until a liquid is made, and then administerimg small amounts via syringe. Is there anything we can give or do to help trigger her appetite? Perhaps, Pepcid for the nausea? Thank you in advance.
My 14 yr old maltese was given one 22.7 mg baytril per day for a uti. My vet is off till Monday. Is this too much for her. She weighs 5.8 lbs. She threw up and from my research it seems like a high dose for her. My 14 yr old maltese was given one 22.7 mg baytril per day for a uti. My vet is off till Monday. Is this too much for her. My 21 lb dog was prescribed enrofloxacin. 68mg once every 12 hours. Is that the correct dosage? Its giving her diarrhea. She was also prescribed 2.5 mg of terbutaline and her heart is beating really hard and fast.
Hello, I couldn't quite fit my entire question here, so I attached it as photos. The abridged version is this: My 12 y/o dog with open pyometra was injected with 22.7mg/ml of Baytril & given 3 days' worth of Baytril tablets at 34mg. This was suggested as an aggressive alternative to a risky surgery due to age, but info online recommends 2.27-9.07mg/lb. She is 18.4lbs making the minimum dose 41mg a day. Could 34mg still have a positive effect; could adding Clavamox or PGF2 Alpha help? Thank you
I am very low income. My female dog has had pancreitis before and is STARTING to have same symptoms. I brought her to a low cost clinic today. They said they are not set for serious sicknesses and were not sure what to give her. They did NO labwork. But gave me Baytril. Is Baytril an antibiotic suitable IF IT IS PANCREITIS? Last time she had pancreitis was prescribed some antibiotic & also Tramadol for pain. I have some tramadol left but don't know dosage they gave for my 22 lb. dog.
Are these DOXYCYCLINE TABLETS ALONG WITH LACTIC ACID BACILLUS CAPSULE used in order to treat tick borne disease? Photo of tablet with name attached below
Hi, I was prescribed 2 separate oral medicines (Meloxicam and Baytril) for my Chinchilla, its been a struggle giving it to her recently, is it ok to add it or mix it with a treat to give it to her, if yes what would you recommend.
Which tablet is good for dog fungal infection
My English bulldog has a recurrent history of ear infections. Previously he's been on Baytril related to ear infection/perforated eardrum plus saline flushes daily. Then, his lab test showed he's resistant to Baytril. Now he's on Clindamycin. His vet called today and recommended that he be on another topical solution for his ear-- it's something they have to mix up but has Baytril in it. So I questioned it due to the fact he's resistant to it. She said he shouldn't be on oral Baytril vs topical.
