Aqueon lid doesn't fit Aqueon products

With the vinyl attached, this lid is about a half inch too short front to back, leaving a half inch gap along the back of the tank. As you can see from other reviews, the manufacturer knows about this defect. Nevertheless, I've already called the 888 number, and they aren't even trying to correct the issue by sending out the correct piece. Instead, they'll send you a part from another lid that is too large and you can cut it down to size. This combined with obvious issues in tank quality and QC over the last few years, and it's no surprise Petco is phasing out Aqueon products. I don't know what happened, but this company is failing.

Like many others have said, this lid did not fit my 29 gallon tank. It was about 1/2 inch too short. I will be returning it.

What ge is decided it was a great idea to make the hinge opaque black in a thick line that runs right down the center, blocking all light where you would almost always put a light? I have to slide my light most of the way to the back of the tank just to get it all through. Why? Why would they do this??? There was no preview showing this. I wouldn't have ordered it, had I known.

Perfect. Went to get on in store and they were out of stock even though it said they had it in stock online. Employee swore the imagitarium one would fit as “they are turning imagatarium and aqueon into the same company”. It did not. Paid the extra for shipping and yes, it fits my aqueon tank 20long perfectly.

Not compatible with Imagitarium tanks

I didn't realize that aqueon and imagitarium tanks would need different sized lids. In both stores near me, they only have imagitarium brand tanks and aqueon brand lids available, so I assumed surely they're compatible. They are not, the lid is a half inch too long width wise to sit properly on my 20 long imagitarium tank. Unfortunately I had already cut the plastic back piece to accommodate my HOB, so I'll just make due with it. The lid itself is well constructed.

It doesn't fit an Aqueon 29 gallon. I wish I had seen the reviews first but yes this does not fit properly. Even with the additional plastic pieces it is about 1/2 inch short on width. Not a huge deal I guess but it looks bad and seems like a lie to say on the packaging that it fits when it really doesn't.

will this fit part of my aquarium inside dimentions 35 1/8"x11 3/8" dimention tank is 36"x12"
- Sadly, no it doesn't sound like it. It fits my 20 gallon long perfectly, but dimensions of my tank are: 12-1/2" deep x 12-3/4" high x 30-1/4 wide.

How do you trim the plastic piece? I've tried w household scissors & they can't cut through the material. Aqueon should provide better guidance to customers both on how to cut the excess away and how to most easily get the plastic piece fit on the glass…
- yes, it can be a pain..i use a small hack saw...you can try a very sharp knife but it can be tricky...

Yes but I'm trying to see if it will fit before I purchase. So I'm trying to see if it's 12" without the backstrip on and then with the strip on it adds about another 2" or ots 12" total with the strip on

Someone gifted me a tank. The measurements inside (not including the lip where hood rests) is 29.25" X 11.5". The tank is 25 gallons. Will this fit?

This is a terrible glass top. The plastic piece does not slide on and I tried to cut it to fit my filter and you cannot cut it. What are you supposed to cut this with? I tried very strong scissors. I tried a carpet cutter. Nothing will cut this plastic.
- I use tin snips and they work perfectly, especially if you also have the left and right cutters
