How do you trim the plastic piece? I've tried w household scissors & they can't cut through the material. Aqueon should provide better guidance to customers both on how to cut the excess away and how to most easily get the plastic piece fit on the glass…
- yes, it can be a pain..i use a small hack saw...you can try a very sharp knife but it can be tricky...

What are rhe measurements of the lid?
- It measures 29”…. I used 3 different tape measures. I have to return.

Yes but I'm trying to see if it will fit before I purchase. So I'm trying to see if it's 12" without the backstrip on and then with the strip on it adds about another 2" or ots 12" total with the strip on

This is a terrible glass top. The plastic piece does not slide on and I tried to cut it to fit my filter and you cannot cut it. What are you supposed to cut this with? I tried very strong scissors. I tried a carpet cutter. Nothing will cut this plastic.
- I use tin snips and they work perfectly, especially if you also have the left and right cutters

I have been trying to get the vinyl strip but it doesn't seem to budge when trying to slide it, any tips?
- Lubricate the edge of the glass with a thin film of vegetable oil. Warm the plastic with a hair dryer until it is more flexible. Then slide it on! Be careful.

Hey I have a small floor stand that is 25 1/2 inches in Length and 1 ft in width what is the maximum size tank I should put on it?

We are new to having aquariums, we really didn't realize so many things played a factor with the water. We currently have a 10 gallon tank but want to increase to a 29 gallon tank. We currently buy gallons of water but with the 29 gallon tank we really don't want to have to do that. We have well water with a salt filter. My levels from to tap was nitrate 10, nitrite 0, hardness 0, chlorine 0, alk 100, ph 7.. is my tap water safe even with the salt filter.
So I've been thinking about getting an axolotl, but I'm a bit confused as I've never had any type of aquarium. My question is: I've been told to get an Aquaclear 50 HBO filter (plus a sponge one for extra bio media), and to slow the flow by placing plants and things under it. But this specific model's slowest flow is 250 l/h, which might be too little for a 90l tank. But if I set it up to 370 or so (which I find would be the best), the flow might be too strong for the axie! Any solutions? <3
