Lid does not fit Aqueon 20 gallon long
They deleted my last review so here I am again. Lid DOES NOT FIT Aqueon 20 gallon long tank. I called their customer service line and they were completely unhelpful. They admitted on the phone that the plastic strip shipped with this lid is the wrong size, but they won't send a correct size to fix it. They only offer a plastic strip that's too large instead of too small that I would have to modify. It's sad that Aqueon doesn't have a lid that fits their own tanks.

Bought for 55 gallon aqueon tank
After reading the reviews I almost didn’t purchase this lid. Thankfully I went for it and 2 of these for my 55 gallon aqueon perfectly. There was nothing to figure out so I’m not sure what’s going on with these other reviews.

DANGEROUS!!!
Dangerous!!!!! Don't buy. Cut myself just opening the lid and probably require stitches. Not a safe product!!!! Second time I've sliced myself on this thing. Not safe at all.

Aqueon glass lids dont fit Aqueon tanks
Doesnt fit their own tanks! Bought these glass aquarium lids 2 nights ago from the waterbury ct petco. Just now putting it on my tank because the special light i ordered just came in. It's a 55g aqueon aquarium. It requires 2 glass tops. Box states it's for a 55g. So why is there a HUGE gap? I can MAKE it work by positioning it right in the middle but I shouldn't have to. It should fit like a glove considering the tank and lid is the same company, Aqueon. Not happy at all but it's now what im stuck with.

I have a 55 gallon aqueon tank bought last year at Petco. Will these 12"x24" tops fit in it? The interior recess is 23 3/8"x11 5/8" at the widest. If not, where can I get something that does fit?

This canopy will fit some 55-gallon center braced aquariums but is too long for others. The 24" in the description refers to the exterior size of the aquarium, NOT the size of the glass canopy itself. What are the exact dimensions of this canopy?
- The 24” x 12” Aqueon versa top is made to fit the Aqueon/All Glass 20H (24.5” x 12.5”) and the Aqueon/All Glass 55 gallon (48 ¼” x 12 ¾”) standard aquariums. These tanks have a frame surrounding them which has an inner ledge which protrudes out to allow the glass to drop into and provide a clean flush surface. The Versa Top also comes with a plastic back strip which allows for adjustment based on personal preference and accessory cut-outs. If using for the 55 gallon, you will require (2) tops as there is a center brace in this size used to support the tops. Where can I get replacement vinyl back strip pieces? I trimmed the originals to fit around filters, etc. Now that I have swapped those out, I need new pieces.

will this fit a 55 gallon tank?
- It may or it may not. 55 Gallon tanks, with a center brace, will vary slightly, depending on brand. In some 55 gallon tanks, it will fit well. In some tanks it will be about an 1/8" too long and not fit into the appropriate recess. The "Aqueon Team" is wrong to state that it will (but requires two units). A correct answer would be that, without knowing the brand of your tank, they don't know. In my tank, this canopy is about an 1/8" too long and does not fit in the recess.

- No it does fit the top fin 20 high. It’s a little bit to long to fit in the plastic cut out for the tank hood.
