I purchased this 60 gallon on 12-30-24 and set it up on 1-5-24, today is 1-26-25 and NO leaks. I had a 40 gallon Topfin and I iust wanted a little bigger tank. I was limited on size or I would definitely go with a 75 G. However, more than likely IF you can do a 40 gallon then you could probably do a 60. So, a 60 gallon is MUCH better than a 40. The actual size is 48.5” L X 18.5”W x 16” H. The only thing I don’t like about is the overall quality is not as good as the Topfin. Like the inside sealing isn’t as uniform and the outside black plastic frame has scuff marks and imperfections.

Came home to 60 gallons leaking in my dining room. Reached out to Aqueon but I no longer have receipt. Product is defective and they requested more information but the tank was put outside due to the leak and cannot give name and date code requested because the tank was taken from outside during the day when at work. Very disappointed. Currently have 60 gallons of fish in a plastic tub hoping they’ll make it while trying to find a tank of better quality. I want to make sure no one else has to experience this.

Leaked after 4 months. Even at 50% off, not worth it.

The aquarium tank is poorly made. Look like someone tried to reseal the tank. Blobs and stringy silicone is everywhere. The glass is aligned and isnt flush with the brace.

1-tank had to be repaired, noticed a small leak at the bottom corner seam ( bubbles in silicone ).

I purchased this tank when it was on sale. My review is based on reptile housing, NOT aquatics or fish keeping. I am satisfied with this tank and I’m using it as a terrarium for my 18 year old ball python. She loves it! Very spacious, no cracks or dents or stains when I picked it up. With your usual enclosure care of insulation, hydrating the substrate, HVAC foil tape, and managed heating elements it is a great terrarium. This tank does not include a lid so be sure to purchase a suitable one made for a 60-75 gallon tank as well as large lid locks.

The short answer is it depends - the use of tempered glass by Aqueon will depend on the specific aquarium size and style. Same lids as 75 and 90 gallon aquariums. 60,75,90 are same dimensions other than height, 48”x18” I recommend glass lids. Petco also has, however check online locations for nearest in stock and when on sale. Also same lids as 125 gallon, except uses 3 pieces instead of 2.

What is the (dry) weight of the 60 gallon breeder aquarium? I read on the Aqueon information sheet that it is 43 pounds dry weight, but that does not seem possible.
