Description
Aqueon Pure Live Beneficial Bacteria and Enzymes are here to save the day! These handy little gel balls are packed with live beneficial bacteria that convert harmful ammonia and nitrite to less toxic nitrate, resulting in clearer water and happier fish.
- - The unique sphere design provides surfaces for the bacteria and enzymes to reside until conditions are ideal for them to work their magic
- - This "time release" formula means you can't overdose on PURE, so feel free to add it weekly without worry
- - Got a new aquarium? No problem - just add two PURE balls per 10 gallons of tank water to get things off to a good start
- - Worried about excess waste from overfeeding or detritus in the tank? PURE breaks it down, reducing the need for filter maintenance
- - Safe for all freshwater aquariums, so don't hesitate to give your fishy friends the benefits of live beneficial bacteria!
- - While PURE doesn't dissolve completely, any small leftover bits will go unnoticed and be removed during water changes

Can this product be used with a UV sterilizer?
- Hi! We appreciate you writing to us. You can use it if you are using a UV sterilizer. Enough of it will be resident in the tank and not get pumped thru the UV. If you would like more information, please call our friendly Consumer Care team at 1-888-255-4527.

Hello, I know it states safe for all freshwater...but... CAN you safely use this in saltwater/reef? Thank you! Nick
- Hey Nick! Our sister company Coralife has actually launched a saltwater version of PURE! We recommend using that for your saltwater/reef set up.

How much would you use for a 2.5 gallon air filtered tank?
- I would add one of the 10 gallon sized orbs for every three or four water changes….But they are solid, so they do not contain liquid, meaning that you can cut them into smaller pieces as well. And since you are using an air filter - by that I assume you mean a sponge filter? - you will definitely want to do changes/vacuuming fairly often as the bacteria will be there but there is no mechanical filtration. But the orbs are also solid, so you can cut them into smaller pieces as well. Best of luck!
