After having temp. issues with 3 other heaters this one FINALLY works! I wanted a 50 watt heater for my 6 Gallon tank that had an emergency overheat cut off and was adjustable. It was a little more then I wanted to spend but after trying 3 other heaters having one that works correctly is worth the price. I prefer to keep my betta tank at 80 degrees F. and while I did have to set this one to 83 degrees F. it is holding my tank temp. stable at 80 degrees F. My fish seriously almost died from one heater almost cooking him to another being too cold and the third almost cooked him again. I'm so happy I found this one, its a shame my local store didn't stock it and I had to mail order it.

I bought this heater yesterday well because it is the only 100 watt they had in stock. I read the instructions and went by them step by step. Plugged it in, Nothing. Took it out and tried again, Nothing. Instructions say the knob on top glows red when heating. Long story short, the knob does not "glow red", It is very faint and dim and can only be seen with all the room lights off. I don't like that. I like to glance over and see the light on and I know it is heating. I'll keep it and see how well it works. .

I see so many bad reviews because the number on the dial and the actual temp of the water dont match. There are contributing factors to this. Like what is the temp of the room your tank is in, what size is your tank, is your tank fully covered...among other things. I have my breeding tanks in my basement...10 gallon apisto tanks...each with their own 50w PRO. The heaters are turned past the 82deg mark because Im in a basement with temps in the upper 50s - lower 60s. They keep my tanks hovered where they are supposed to be with a degree of accuracy. I dont have a lot of water movement with just sponge filters running so to keep the other side of the tank at the desired temp, the area near the heater must be subjected to warmer temps. My fish find their sweet spot and breed in the cave where they choose. Thanks for making a dependable heater, Ive been using these for as long as I an remember

This heater was working for the first couple of days after purchase. Then I noticed my water temperature dropped to 68 degrees. Called Aqueon and they are sending me a new heater for my Aqueon Minibow 5 gallon!

Doesn’t work. LED light never turned on. Heater was set to 80 and the water is room temperature. Readjusted the heater and still nothing. Other negative reviews are accurate. Don’t waste your money. I should’ve believed those reviews.

Works pretty well, actual temp seems to be off 1-2 degrees in each tank, but over works well in my 5 gallon tanks, my bettas are very happy! One has been out a lot more since I’ve got the water warmed up. I would buy this again (hopefully won’t need to for a while ;) )

Heater keeps acting up the last 2 months. Have to turn it up every few weeks to get it to heat the tank. Now the light is on and it's not warm

What is it mean when a red and green light blinks together

It is indicating that the heater is going on and off – like a furnace. My suggestion would be to turn the knob a touch to set the temperature. Please call the Aqueon Team at 888-255-4527 if you have further questions.

This could be too strong for a 3 gallon tank. We recommend the Aqueon Submersible Aquarium Heater, 10 Watt which is for tanks up to 5 gallons.
