Does not work!
I purchased this about 45 days ago, added it to my large fish tank as a second heater, and went out of town for a month. This unit did not work at all, and Petco said I was beyond my 30 days for return. Ugh.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Nice Heater - Looks good in tank.
Good heater, but doesnt last very long. i buy them two at a time for my two 55G tanks so i have them on hand when one stops working. They're unobtrusive and sit nicely in the tank. I probably replace them every year and a half to two years.

Perfect
Had to buy one of these in a pinch and I ended up loving it, will be buying a second for my other tank. Only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because I just wished the knob was a little less cheap looking and more precise but other than that perfect.

Does the job
It does the job and looks sleek as well if that’s something that matter to you. Keeps the tank warm but my thermometer always reads a couple degrees less than I have the heater set to. So don’t really solely on the heater. I would keep an eye on your thermometer just in case.

Do not do it
Do not buy a fixed temp design - they have too much error and you cant compensate. Too bad as it is a nice compact solid design.

Worked great keeping an outdoor fountain from freezing.

Very Disappointed w this heater
Bought the 55gal kit and the 200w heater is not working properly I’m very disappointed will take back to store where I purchased I’m not very optimistic that if they replace it with another one that I won’t have a problem with that one shaking my head

What are the policies on returning or replacing in the even that something goes wrong with the heater shortly after purchase?
- There was a one yr warranty on the heater I purchased. My Aqueon 200W Pro heater stopped working within the year, and I contacted the Aqueon customer service Dept. They replaced it after I sent in proof of purchase (photo of the defective heater and receipt) and they sent me a replacement very quickly. The rep who handled my call told me they make a one time replacement. The replacement lasted at least another yr, but it did eventually stop working. Good luck getting your replacement.

Is is suppose to sound like there is something loose on the inside?
- No, and if it sounds like something rattling around inside it's not normal, I would take it back to the store where you purchased it and return it.

My turtles live in a 110 gallon stock tank. Suction cups don't work in it. Is it OK to just let them lay on the bottom?

- This one only goes up to 75 gallons, you can get several ones to place in different areas in your small pond.

Is this a ready to submerge in water product or do I need to buy other stuff and prep it before putting it i the water?
- The heater is submersible into the water without purchasing other products. You do need to attach the suction cups that are included in the package and set the heater temperature before submersing the heater. Is this 200 watt for 55 gallon tank ?
