Terrible heater does not work
Terrible heater I have it set at 80 degrees and it has never got to 80 degrees it is always shutting off when it’s suppose to be on if I move it or unplug it and then plug it back in it kicks back on but only stays on for a little while my tank has been going up and down in temperature every day super frustrating absolutely hate this heater

I think mine lasted about a week. Unfortunately my wife threw away my receipt. What a waste of money.

BEWARE! This heater will cook your fish!
We installed this heater when setting up a new 29g tank. It worked great set to 78 degrees for the first two weeks of cycling, but one day, I came home and the temperature in our tank was 84 DEGREES! The heater's thermostat was stuck in the "on" position, and it would not turn off. It was just running in the "on" position for who knows how long. Even after I turned the temperature on the dial as low as it would go, it stayed on.
When I disconnected the power and removed the heater, the heater was so hot that I couldn't handle it!
It's a good thing the tank was still cycling, because if there were fish in the tank, they'd probably be dead now. I will never buy another Aqueon heater again.

Heater blew up
Would not recommend. After about an hour of being in the tank I heard a sizzling noise and I looked over at the tank and the heater blew up. Sounded like a fire cracker. And pieces of the top flew everywhere. Luckily we haven't put anything live in the tank yet. And glad it didn't shatter or crack my tank. Returned and got a different brand.

Works Well yet pricey
Keeps my 20 gallon long tank warm in a cold house. Multiple setting and definitely would recommend.

This was recommended due to guaranteed accuracy, but I am not seeing any direction regarding wattage per volume here. I have a 20 long in Oregon (average 60°-70°f interior temp) and would like to keep my tank at 80°f - do I need a 50w or a 100w?
- Since oyur temperature can vary almost 20 degrees (thouhg 60 seems to be low for room temp) you would actually want a 150w heater. Also there aren't many fish that like it that warm. - Theoretically. 50 w for 20 gal for 78F room.but if ur room colder as usual. The heater might overwork.efficiency goes down

Will this work for my 10 gallon axolotl tank? The temperature can't go above 74 degrees F, and I wanted to know if I could use this heater to keep it from going past my max.
- Axolotl's shouldn't be heated!! Perfect temperature is 65-68 degrees

Bought this yesterday. I did not notice the light blinking twice when I plugged it in. On the default setting, there is no light at all so I don't know if it is working or not. When I turn it up to 80 degrees it shows a red light. Is it defective?
