Pretty decent heater, we have 2 in our 110 gallon tank and recently our door was pushed open by the wind on a cold day, the house was 38 degrees the tank dropped 5 degrees only. Id say theyre pretty impressive

Seems to work well but indicator light in adjustment knob was a bad design flaw. Mine is very dim and difficult to see when heater is working.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Aqueon Pro 300 - great product.

This is the most reliable and longest lasting heater I have found. I didn't give a 5 star because I would like to have the on-light on the front of the heater, like the older models I have bought in the past. Having it on top makes it hard to see if the heater is on or off in my aquarium.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Works as described

The temperature/wattage chart was good for this product. I needed to turn the temperature setting higher than what I needed my tank to be seeing as it is winter and I keep my house at about 65 degrees. This heater heated my 75 gallon tank in less than 24 hours after correctly installing it. My previous heater was undersized for the temperature of my house and had completely died. I like the metal housing it will be handy when turning it off and laying it in the tank for water changes.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Good heater. It is very long even for my 75gallon tank. Holds good to the tank. However I have it set between 78 and 76 Degrees Fahrenheit and According to my Thermometer my water is holding at 74 degrees. Overall good heater.

I had a 200w Aqueon Pro heater that used to work. But after setting up my 55 gallon tank again after being down for over a year, it wouldn't even keep the tank above 74 degrees. Even before that, the actual temp of the water was 4-5 degrees off from what I set the heater to. So I was forced to go buy another one and Petco only had 100w or 300w in stock at the store so I upgraded to a 300w. I like these heaters because they are all black and not made out of glass. It matches the black background of my tank very well. This one actually seems to work perfect. The temperature I set it to is very close to what the water temp actually is. Hopefully it holds up for a long time. Make sure you follow the instructions and submerse it and let it sit for 30 minutes to an hour before plugging it in. And then don't change the dial for 24 hours and just let it run.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Would this work for a 120 gallon tank

  1. not really need a bigger heater you dont want it to constantly stay on

Which size Aqueon Pro aquarium heater is better for a 75 gallon aquarium? The 300w or the 200w?

  1. I use the 300w in my 75 but it is safer to use two heaters in case of failure. So maybe two 150's.

Bought yesterday not working today… Why ???

  1. Sorry to hear about that! We'd like to do some additional investigation. Please give our friendly Consumer Care team a call at 1-888-255-4527.

Can you use these heaters horizontaly

  1. Yes, you definitely can.

Is it ok if this heater is not fully submerged? Is it ok to just have the top out of the water ?

  1. It is ok to leave the top out that is how we have had ours for a while now. No problems.

I know it’s indoor heater but can I use this on  Tropical fish in 250gallon tank outside by my gazebo and increase the temperature  to meet the required temp.for the fish The water is  really cold at this time in Chula Vista ,California.

  1. You would need multiple heaters for a tank this large. Probably better off with a large external heater that has water pumped through it.

Is this suitable for a 5 gallon tank?

  1. not the aqueon pro 300 but yes they do make one smaller that I use for my 15 gal and also used for many 3 - 5 gallons. I think it is a pro 50. Love them because they are not glass.

Is this are for a pond liner?

  1. Hi there, thank you for your question. These heaters are designed for inside use. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Upgrading to a 100g freshwater.Ambient temperature is 72 winter/ 78 summer. Packaging info states 300w is suitable for up to 100g, which seems lower than the 5 watts/g typically recommended. Suggestions? Thank you

  1. This is a question that our Consumer Care team would be more than glad to assist you with! We can be reached at 1-888-255-4527.

I'm going to be setting up an Aqueon 125 gallon FW tank soon & I always like to have 2 heaters in my larger tanks - 55 & above. What would be best recommendation for the 125 which has a height of 21 inches but substrate of 3 - 4 inches?

  1. (2) heaters 200 or 300 watts each. Ambient room temperature and species will also factor into this decision. If you have any further questions/concerns, please contact us at 1-888-255-4527!
