Questions
I purchased this heater today and have in a half full 29 gallon tank. The heater has been in the tank for 4 hours. The water temp has gone from 68 to 74 so far. How long should it take to get it to 78?
- To be honest, it might never get there. I ran 100 watt versions of these heaters in three 10 gallon tanks. One of the tanks finally made it to 78, but the other two never got higher than 76. I stopped buying those heaters because they weren't reliable.

What type of heater should I get for a 100 gallon fish tank and of course how many
- Several smaller heaters are better than one large one - in case one breaks, the others will compensate. Type depends on how the tank is set up, and fresh or salt water. If you are using external filtration, and/or a separate sump, consider heating the water in-line or in the sump. If you want submersible in-tank heaters, start with 4 200-watt pre-set heaters, let them cycle for a few days, monitoring the temp. If it swings up and down, add 2 more heaters.

What would be the perfect temperature watt for a 10 gallon?
- It depends on how warm/cold the room is, and the fish you are keeping - you can get by with 25 watts IF the room is always above 67 degrees and you have fish with "normal" tolerance for temperature fluctuation. And, it's important to have TWO heaters, even in a small tank - heaters will fail eventually, and you won't know it until the fish start showing stress. For my 10 gallon tanks, I use two 50-watt heaters, one at one end near the bottom under the filter outflow (I use a hang-on-tank Aquaclear) and one vertical at the other end of the tank. 100 watts for 10 gallons is too much, but only one comes on at a time - and the tank is in a garage that often gets down below 50 degrees at night, so the heater does a lot of work keeping the tank warm.

Can I use this heater for my 40 gallon turtle tank? I have a heater that isn't keeping the tank at the preset temperature and I want to change.
- Our sister company Zilla Products actually offers an exclusive heater for turtle tanks! You can contact their Consumer Care team at 1-888-255-4527 for more information.

I have a 29 gallon, and I was considering sizing up to this heater just to be certain the tank maintains temperature. Would that be overkill?
- We recommend a 100 watt heater. That is suitable for aquariums up to 30 gallons, while the 150 watt heater is suitable for aquariums up to 55 gallons.

I have a 55 gal Tank. What is this product up to?
- This will be perfect for your tank! The 150w is suitable for aquariums up to 55 gallons, while the 200w is suitable for aquariums up to 75 gallons.
