Hard to keep on the tank and burns out fast

MommaDoh

This light was nearly impossible to keep in place until I added a block of wood between the "support" and the tank glass inside the tank. If you didn't tighten the screw enough, it would fall backwards off the tank (luckily there was a wall behind to stop it from crashing to the floor) but if you tightened it anymore, it would then flop forward onto the lid of the tank. When we were finally able to get it to balance, it would then fall again with the slightest touch of the on/off button. On top of all that, we had it less than 6 months before it burned out. For the price paid, one would hope it would have lasted (much) longer than that.

No, I do not recommend this product.

High PAR for nano tanks

bz_mt

I have two of these lights on two different tanks. I got them because they were available at Petco locally and they were inexpensive. I looked, but I haven't seen any PAR measurements for these lights, so I thought since I was lucky enough to have a PAR meter (Apogee MQ-510), I would post some numbers. PAR readings in my 3 gallon nano tank: - Light's LED's are 3.5 inches above the water line - 480 PAR when sensor is just below the water line (around .25 inches underwater) - 220 PAR at substrate (around 6.5 inches underwater) PAR readings in my 15 gallon Fluval tank: - Light's LED's are 3.5 inches above the water line - 480 PAR when sensor is just below the water line (around .25 inches underwater) - 85 PAR at substrate (around 10 inches underwater) Note: All of these readings are directly below the light and not off to the corners of the tanks. I'll let you decide if these are good numbers or not, but my thought is that on my nano, it is "high light". I have CO2 running, so hasn't been a problem and my plants are growing like crazy. On the 15 gallon, depending on where the plants are in the tank, it can range from high to low light. Personally, I think I'm going to add a second light to the 15 gallon tank. I'm still only set back around $70 for this setup and to get that sort of PAR, I usually have to pay much more than that.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Not worth 34.99.....

It was great for the first month of use. Now the power of the light is much less than what it use to be and the plants aren't really able to get enough light because of how dim the light really is. I've had this light for a total of two months now.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Item is very bright covers the entire tank with light. I’m using for a saltwater tank an it’s high enough to not get salt on it from the water. Great product.

Great light with a crappy tap button - NON adjust

Squanchums

Been using this for a while and I can honestly say that the light itself is wonderful. The spectrum seems to be fairly on key for the lamp. Unfortunately, the lack of ability to adjust the angle of the light causes it to shine right onto the 1.5 inch black folding strip that's on THE SAME COMPANY'S LID negating a LARGE portion of the light that enters the tank. The light button is a touch switch that turns on full blast and THEN to low light. Scares the living crap out of my fish and I think it cost me a couple of my little grass shrimp that cohabitate the tank..poor things have a heart attack ever morning...a switch is needed to make the product worth much...and a light that beems onto the plastic strip is just proof y'all are out to make money and NOT quality products...

No, I do not recommend this product.

Can it be used as a glofish light the blue?

  1. Hi! We appreciate your message. The better light for glowfish would be our Coralife clip-on led light. It has a more intense blue to it. If you'd like more details, please call our friendly Consumer Care team at 1-888-255-4527.

Can this be light be used on a timer?

  1. Yes, it can be!

Hello, is this light too much for my 3 gallon tank not heavily planted. I only have a few anubias and one aqua-floras.

  1. Yes, I think that would be too much light for such a small tank. I would try the regular Aqueon clip on light. That should be enough for the anubias. I'm not too familiar with the aqua-floras; but, it looks like some type of moss, which would probably do well under lower light as well.

so is it 18 watts or 13 watts? both have been said.

  1. Hey there The plant version s 13 watts.

Hi! WIll this work with a 3 gallon heavily planted tank with Kubotai Rasbora's or too strong? It's for a Tetra LED Cube Shaped 3 Gallon Aquarium. I want to replace the small/basic LED light (low light).

  1. Should work well

Would this light clip onto the back of a framed 33 gallon long Aqueon tank? Am thinking of setting it up with plants and want to make sure this light will fit over the frame.

  1. I don’t see why not but you’re gonna need more than one for plants.

is this adjustable and will it work fine on a 20 tall

  1. No its not adjustable, but yes will work on any tank

Ok so LED lights are not supposed to get warm enough to heat up the water in a tank. How warm does this light really get? How many degrees is it likely to add to a 10 gallon aquarium? Also, is this considered low, medium, or high light for a 10 gallon?

  1. It does not heat up at all and it's perfect for 5-10 gallons

Would I be able to use this for a 29 gallon saltwater aquarium?

  1. not if you are planning on growing coral, but if it was a freshwater planted tank yed, or if you just want light then it will work

So the light was working fine for a few days and now its stopped suddenly and the adapter box is beeping and time its connected to an outlet how do I fix this ?

  1. Sorry to hear about this! We'd like to gather additional information so we can provide proper assistance. Please contact us directly at 1-888-255-4527.
