Purchased for 29 gallon , 30 inch tank . Love the ease of setting it on top of glass tank cover and removing when needed to .

Luckily the light wasn’t plugged in when I tried to put it on my tank because the thing fell right in. After using a tape measure I realized not only is this NOT 20”. It’s not even 19”. 18.75” tops. Not at all as advertised. Have to wait overnight to return it.

I added a second light strip and my aquarium is now as bright as when I had a 15 W fluorescent light

Extremely dim compared to the fluorescent light it replaced. Hard to even see the back of my aquarium. They should at least provide me with the second row of lights it can accomodate. BTW, there is no 3-way switch. It's on-off, period.

I have a 36 Gallon Aqueon tank with Deluxe hood. I am looking to upgrade to use LED strips. Do I need to purchase this fixture or is there any other way to use the existing fixture comes with the deluxe hood?

I had the same issue. The fluorescent fixture, which sits on top of the “hood” won’t work with the LED lights (even though they look like they might fit). But you don’t have to buy a new full hood. The light fixture is a separate part and you can just buy the LED one which sits in the same place on the hood that your current fluorescent fixture sits. Anyway, that’s what I did. The fluorescents were a disappointment. I bought one, and the ballasts on the fixture burned out. Then I bought a replacement and had the same problem within a year. The fluorescent just isn’t made very well. LED seems the only real choice at this point.

I have a 36 gallon bowfront by Aqueon and want to replace the current fluorescent (t8,24") with and led setup. Will the 24" fit properly in the existing hood? Maybe a silly question forgive me I'd just like to ensure fitment or different size etc.

Could I use this to replace just the light fixture (the part that sits on top) on my Aqueon 24" Hood with Fluorescent fixture? The light fixture lifts right off of the hood, but has quit working. Is it better than the fluorescent fixture?
