I bought this a week ago to fit the 10 gallon aquarium I purchased at Petco and purchased the light in Hood at Petco as well. I go to install it and the very first detail on the instructions says this product is intended for use over glass covered aquariums only. They do not include a glass cover they include a plastic hood. The hood is made of cheap plastic and on top of that does not fit well it fits extremely tight. It also says to gently remove the parts where your power filter goes and any accessories where the lines are to snap it off as well as the long strip in case your tank is too narrow. There is absolutely no way to gently remove any of the plastic panels that are referring to. You will need to use a Dremel tool as there is no hope of gently snapping them off without damaging the hood. I called the manufacturer and they said the light is intended for the plastic Hood when clearly in the instructions it says " this product is intended for use over glass covered aquariums only. I called and spoke with the manufacturer who is extremely rude and told me that the light was made to use with the plastic Hood contradicting the first sentence in the installation process. If you buy this hood and light you basically need to trash the hood and go by a glass cover and use the included light. Like I said I tried to explain it to the manufacturer and he was very rude. I made the mistake of buying all Aqueon brand products to go with the tank and Hood which I'm thinking was a mistake now after the level of customer service I received. I tried to include a picture of the instructions but unfortunately the ad picture feature is not working. Like I said do yourself a favor and go with a different brand.

There is nothing "deluxe" about this hood. The included LED bulb is VERY weak (4 watts I believe). There is no built-in timer of any kind. You can't call something "deluxe" and not include a basic feature like that.

Since I couldn't find any pictures of this lid on a 55 gallon Aqueon tank, I thought I'd post some. These lids fit perfectly. So far so good! For a 55 gal tank, you will need two of them. It only comes with 1 light for each but has space for two lights if you want more brightness.

The hood/light seems fine and the included white light and blue light both work. Also the included white light seems pretty bright so when I combine with my current white/red/blue/green LED tube it should be fine for both my fish and plants. While it does not seem to be made of the most sturdy materials it looks to be plenty strong enough to serve well as a tank hood even with a few decoration on top. So all seems fine so why only 2 stars? It simply does not fit my tank. Both the item description and package state that it is 24 inches wide yet, actually, it is only 22.75 inches wide which is too short for my 20 gallon high, 23.6 inches wide, which the description also says it will fit. Even though I will just add spacers to one or both ends to make up for the wrong size I should not need to do so which is why I only gave 2 stars. With me it would be very unusual for me to give more stars for an item that does not meet the description. I am going to say that I would not recommend strictly due to the thing not being the stated size but it does seem serviceable.

Hood fits well but for the price, it should have come with 2 bulbs. The bulb included is VERY dim, meaning I had to search the internet for another bulb for the health of my mid-high light plants. I was hoping for a lid with a bigger area of light but it includes a 5" wide window that the light shines through. Wish I would have kept the receipt so I could have bought a different light setup. Sick with it now and hoping I don't have the same early burn out experience others here have experienced.

Horrible amount of light there is almost no light at all. Even added a second bulb.

I've had this type of hood before for a 20 gallon that I used to have. I have a 10 gal now and bought this same style. i about had a heart attack when I got to the register. $63.99 and only comes with 1 white light. For this price both lights should be included. Can't say I'm happy about the pricey purchase. We'll see. 3 stars for expecting it to do what its intended. 3 stars for the price charged.

I bought this on the website and it was broken so I want back the next day and they saw it and replaced it with no problem. I always shop there for my pets.
