I bought this las week, defective filter, they won't replace it.

The glass has stain from silicon residue, it was so much effort, to clean and set up.

Heater broke in 5 mins and water conditioner is expired. Unacceptable.

I bought this aquarium kit almost one week ago. But for the filter, this tank would get 5 stars. The ease of setup and having all the pieces required for a tank was great. Heater keeps the water at 76 degrees. No leaks and the LED lights work. Got it all set up in an hour or two. My issue is with the water inlet for the filter. I bought a long tailed male betta and within hours of him being in the tank, his tail got sucked up into the water inlet. Immediately upon noticing, I removed him and right as he was swimming away, he got sucked up again. This tank is being marketed to beginners. I was not aware until after the fact that there were pre-filter sponges that could be placed on the water inlet to prevent my fish's untimely death. Not including the pre-filter sponges which cost about $6 when bought separately just seems negligent. It's not the cost of the fish I lost but for the price I paid for this aquarium kit and the minimal cost it would have on Aqueon to include the pre-filter sponges in the kit as an optional piece to add.

Don’t buy anything aquarium kits. Bought as a newbie and thought it was convenient. Turns out the filter is only for 10g (not stated on item), the heater is non controlling, and the LEDs are weak (no details either). Tank is fine so better off buying the bare tank and everything else separately. There are better HOB filters out there. The Aqueon versa top should be good though. So wasted 70% of my purchase since I had to buy everything anyways. Donated to Aqueon.

Since I bought this setup I've replaced the filter ( original one was inefficient, underpowered and the light that was supposed to come on to indicate time to change filter corroded within weeks ) heater ( automatic set non adjustable the water temp hovered around 65 - 70 degrees ! ) and wish could do something about the lights in the hood which randomly cut on and off. First time since I've kept fish in 20 years I've bought a complete set up kit just wish it wasn't this one. Highly recommend for any novice doing good research and buying tank and add ons separately.

Bout this about 6 months ago and now the LED lights are out.. super disappointed in this set up. I has replaced the cheap pump, and heater for what I needed. Thought this set up was gonna be ok. But nope. Especially the light, makes me mad. Now I gotta buy another top cover and light now. I won't ever buy this brand again.

My last review said, no not to buy. That's completely wrong. My new fish tank is excellent and so are the lights, and the personnel who are there to help. Great folks for sure. Thank You.
