Good but not without flaws

I bought this tank 5 days ago. It was so easy to set up and came with everything you need! Most importantly, my fish seem comfortable with the size; I have 3 female bettas and 2 cory catfish in there at the moment. The only issue I’ve come across is that for some reason my filter is already blinking for replacement, this started 2 days ago. I thought it was faulty and I just rinsed the filter cartridge with some of the aquarium water, this turned the light off for a little bit but it was right back on the next time I checked on it. I hope this won’t be an ongoing issue, I don’t want to have to buy a different filter.

Petco Fish Expert Says this is too small for fish

Bought this tank only to be told this wasn't the appropriate home for any fish sold at Petco. I was told by the Petco salesperson that I needed a 75-gallon minimum for even one freshwater fish. Even more for a saltwater fish. That being said, the Petco person would not sell me any fish given the size of my tank. I should have known this before I bought my tank which is fully set up and ready for fish, but the salesperson discouraged me so much. I have had my empty tank heated and running its filter for over a month without fish. Maybe this tank is meant for betta only, there should be a warning on the front of the package.

I've had this product for less than a week, and I'm already fed up with it. The filter is loud, no matter what troubleshooting steps I take, it doesn't resolve the issue. Do not buy.

I bought this product 3-4 weeks ago, and it works great! Just remember to always fill your tank with just water for at least 48 hours to make sure the seals are good, also submerge your heater in water for 30 minutes before operating... lastly, fill your filters back end with water before running for the first time. a lot of people skip over these steps, and cause the life of their equipment to be drastically reduced. This is a mass produced product, so some of them may have issues, but overall Aqueon is a pretty great brand...

LED feature broke in one month

I bought this tank 1 month ago and I was happy with it until the LED light cover stopped working. Now only the right and center LED lights are working leaving half of the tank in the dark.
One month of use. I would not recommend this to others because you cannot replace the light. Now I am forced to spend a lot of money on a new hood.

The submersible preset heater in the 10 gal aquarium kit, is it strong enough for a 20 gal long tank?
- No it is not; this small preset heater is supposed to keep a 10-gallon at 78 degrees. It barely keeps it at 72 degrees for me. I will be buying a stronger heater for sure.

Can this accommodate 1 female koi betta, 1 male guppy, and 5 neon tetras? Also, which hood is recommended for this tank?
- I have the 10 gallon LED Aqueon. I purchased the complete kit as purchasing accesories seperately can become expensive, especially hoods. I have 5 Glofish Tetras, 2 female betta's and an apple snail with a few ghost shrimp. They are all fine, but I did switch out the filter it came with for an Aqueon QuietFlo 20, because I'm pushing the bioload with 7 fish. The old school way is 1" per fish, per gallon. Also go with an LED hood if you are adding live plants, better for growth.

why is the filter so loud
- As the aqueon team suggests, the filter shouldn't be loud by any means. I own this exact kit and can attest that under it's normal functionality, it should be nearly silent, unless you have everything else in the room that produces noise off and are REALLY trying to hear something. If yours is making loud or excessive noise, I recommend you trade it in for a new one if after checking for any other issues suggested by Aqueon it still persists. Additionally, when setting up the tank, you dont want to run the filter dry. Meaning, you want to fill your tank, and then ensure there is water in the filter when you are plugging it in. Even then sometimes itll make noise but once it fills and begins flowing the sound should subside altogether. Hope this helps.

Hi I just bought this and the heater light is not/will not turn on. Does that mean it's already the correct temperature? Also, how do I know which way to turn the filter batteries? The booklet is not clear.

Is it 13.88" tall including the height of the filter on top? the shelf I want to store my tank I have 14ish inches of space so if the filter is going to stick up higher than that I need to know.
- I just measured mine for you and it's 15 inches with the hang on back filter that came with it. You would need more room on top to get in the tank to do water changes, etc. Hope you find a spot for it. It's a nice small size tank.
