Wow. Horrible product for what its for. This is betta food, not feed for large fish. The pellets are not only way too big but also the lid design is HORREDNDOUS! I literally just now thought it'd be nice to give my betta one of these pellets, I cannot believe how idiotic the lid design is... this is for small fish yet no small opening for the food?! just a large cap?! This has led to me over feeding my entire tank on an accidental moistured pinch of food. Now I'm trying to collect all the pellets making a mess and wasting my time and now my Betta is over fed. Thanks! NEVER BUYING THIS PRODUCT AGAIN! DANGEROUS TO BETTAS!

No, I do not recommend this product.

I purchased a new Betta and fresh food. He couldn’t get his mouth around the pellets, so I break them up for him. He is a very enthusiastic eater! Small consequence for a good product. He’s happy so I’m happy!

Yes, I recommend this product.

Bought this with the Elephant Ear Betta I just purchased. Found for my fish's size it is easier for him to eat these pellets if I break them in half until he grows a little bigger.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Why did you Change the size? they are to big! I see that there have been a lot of complaints about the size. Are you going to do anything about it? I am very disappointed that the only response is about your money back guarantee.

  1. Hi there! We always appreciate any feedback from our consumers and would love to learn more about your situation so we can properly answer all questions you may have. Please contact us directly at 1-888-255-4527 so we can continue the conversation and move forward accordingly.

I bought a small betta 13 days ago at Petco. I feed him Aqueon and he seems to like it. Petco told me to feed him 1 pellet 2x a day. But he seems to be hungry; he roots around in the gravel for more food. Should I give him 2 pellets 2x a day?

  1. Hi there! The betta will be fine on that amount of food. Overfeeding is not suggested and can do more harm than good.

I got my beta fish at petco the same day i got this. Ive been feeding my beta the pellets but it hasn't eaten a single one since Ive gotten him. I got him 3 days ago. What should I do! Please help I don't want my betta to die!

  1. If the pieces of food are floating away from your betta, you could get a feeding tray. This will trap the food at the surface of the water so your betta can capture the pellets in a simple manner.

Can I feed my baby betta this food?

  1. Yes, you can feed these pellets to your baby betta as long as you crush them with a spoon before feeding so they'll actually t=fit in your betta's mouth. I even have to do this with my adult betta.

I have just got a need betta it’s my first and I just put him in his tank is it normal for them to be wary of the pellets he has swam circles around them and only ate two of the four?

  1. That is very normal.  They like variety as well.  Also they love meat.  A tiny bit of lean beef roast is a real treat.  Also frozen shrimp from your pet store.  Just scrape off a tiny bit into his tank and put rest back in freezer.  They love bloodworms, frozen or dried.

I have a half-moon betta and when we purchased it we got him the Aqueon betta food pellets they were kind of orangey in color, a couple of days ago we finished the bottle so we got another but this time the pellets are brown in color and my Betta won’t ea

  1. The ones I bought I believe we're orangey too. I'd call the company to inquire if they changed the formula.

How many pellets should I feed my betta daily? I know I need to feed it 2x a day.

  1. Betta do better with less you should feed 3-4 pellets every other day. Bettas are prone to bloat from over eating and this can make them very sick.

How much should you feed at a time? And how many times a day?

  1. I have a 5 gallon tank with a pleco, 2 Chinese algae eaters, 2 neon tetras and a guppy. I feed once a day and give one shake (10-15 pellets) a day and one algae wafer a week and they seem happy.

I feed my Betta 2 pellets 5x a day. Is that to much? She always acts like she wants more.

  1. In my opinion I think you are over finding her  I always feed 3 times a day

We purchased the beta pellet food. I see the same complaint in other comments. The food sinks almost immediately. My daughter is over feeding due to fear her fish r not getting enough to eat w it sitting on the bottom. What is the food tray?

  1. A feeding tray comes complete with suction cup and plastic floating ring to retain floating foods and help prevent food from entering the filter/being pushed down from it. However, if you continue to have questions about the pellets, please call the Aqueon Consumer Care team at 1-888-255-4527. We'd love to help you out!
