- My daughter had a very small tank but would prepare her water ahead of time in a gallon jug. It takes 5ml per gallon so you should use 15 ml for a 3 gallon tank.

- Yes, if you are topping off your tank or doing a partial water change. When cleaning the whole aquarium, I put the Aqueon in before putting my betta back in.
