What is the LED intensity? I’ve read that some find it’s too bright for a betta to be comfortable. I want to confirm before getting a betta in the near future and wish to provide it the best home along with live plants.
- Yes It is pretty bright my betta doesn't seem to mind how bright it is but just in case I just got a couple of real and fake floating plants to block out some of the light and it's fine now

do i need a heater?
- Hi there! We appreciate you writing to us. Whether you need a heater or not will depend on the type of fish you intend to keep. It is best to choose the type of fish you want to keep and then check with the pet store to see what temperature range they will need to be kept at. From there you can determine if a heater is necessary or not. If you would like more details, please call our friendly Consumer Care team at 1-888-255-4527.

I purchased the 6 gallon version and wondering how many fish can occupy the tank? I want to get a few buddies for my betta. like 3 Cory catfish or similar… thanks
- The Aqueon team is correct that the rule of thumb is one inch of fish per gallon of water. However, that is an old formula that does not include water with filtration and aeration, so with a filter and pump it's actually a very conservative estimate. You should be absolutely fine with one betta and three cories, esp. since cories prefer some company of their own kind.
