Questions
Can this be used on a 40 gallon tank?
- It's not powerful enough for that size tank. It's nor even powerful enough for my 28 gallon. I use this for 1 gallon QT tanks.

There seems to be conflicting information, regarding which heater for which size tank, within the descriptions. I have a 3 gallon semi circle tank for my beta. Should I get the 7.5W or the 5W? The house is usually between 68 and 72 °F. Thank you!
- 5W should be fine

- This will heat your tank about 4-5 degrees more than the room temperature.

I have a 1.7 gallon tank and I want to raise a baby betta. I need the water it be around 80-83. My ambient temperature is 69 which size would best fit my tank?
- This heater is better for a 1 gal tank.

How many degrees will it heat up my water? (3.5 gallon)
- Probably not enough. It kept my 1 gal betta bowl at 82 to 85.

I want to install my heater for my 3 gallon betta tank but I was wondering if I could but rocks on top of it?
- This has a suction cup where you can install to the tank wall

I have this heater in a 1 gallon plastic tank, the temperature seems to be hovering right at or slightly over 80 degrees. I don't want to over heat my little betta, can I move the heater to the outside of the tank? Is there another way to lower the temp?
- Couple of thoughts for you. Our smallest tank is 1.5 gallon. Our room temps are 66-68 degrees in winter and 74-78 in summer. If your room temp is around 70-something, your gallon tank should maintain that temp pretty well. We went up to the 1.5 gallon because our location is pretty cool and we wanted to use a heater. We love this heater, by the way. I wouldn't use the heater on the outside-it needs water to function and it will probably burn out. Our bettas have functioned a little better on the cooler side in the past only because it took some patience and experimenting to find the best environment for them. Now it's been several years and we always have happy bettas. Bettas are tough and such a joy! Good luck, I hope this helped.

Can the heater be placed under gravel at the bottom of the tank?
- I think it can be hidden, I never ended up using it.
Helpful?
Can this heater be connected to timer? To have it go on and off every few hours?
- Yes, I believe it could. There is no "on/off" switch, so when it is plugged in and receiving power it heats and when unplugged it does not. Hope this helps!

How do I know it’s on? Is it suppose to vibrate? Make a sound? I can’t tell if it’s working.
