Doesn’t Work
I just bought this and it doesn’t work. It’s brand new out if the box. There is no on switch. I plugged it in, even tried changing outlets. I already threw away the box and it’s annoying to try to reassemble in the box to return. Ugh 😩

Works well & depending on temp req a timer can hel
It was working well for however long we've had it two years or more. I use it in a 2 gallon tank for my beta. Recently it doesn't bring the temperature up to 78° like it used to. We never kept it at 78°(at that temp it requires cleaning more often) so we use an Enbrighten plug and regulated it to about 12 hours a day with five different cycles turning it on and off maintaining it at 72°

Doesn’t Work ❌
I bought this yesterday feeling excited to set up my new fish’s tank only to find out that the device doesn’t work. I even waited a couple hours to see if it just needed time to activate. I then went ahead and just touched the heater to test it- to my surprise, it was cold to the touch. I’m very disappointed 😔

Put this in my new tank a week ago. Ambient room temperature is 68°F. This keeps the water at 83°F. It's just to warm.

Overheats
Got this last night to put in my 6 gallon betta tank. Woke up this morning and the water is reading 84 degrees! I specifically got this because my 100w was too strong an making the tank 80 degrees, this was made for way bigger tanks or is faulty!

Did not work
Opened the pack and plugged it in to heat up my 5.5 gal tank and did not warm up at all. I have the same one for my 2.5 gal tank (that one works perfectly).

I read many reviews about where to place heaters and most of them say don't put them at the bottom under the gravel or substrate. However, yours says it could be placed at the bottom. Can you place them at the bottom of the tank under the substrate?
- It is referring to the bottom below the outtake hose, between the substrate and hose. This is not designed for under substrates( grave). This is in a 5gallon . Thanks and have a Blessed Day.

My turtle heater stopped working. Can I use this type of heater at the bottom of the tank until the new one arrives? I have one from an old betta tank.

What would the temperature be if I put this in a five gallon tank??
- I have it in a 3G betta tank, never checking the temp. Theoretically, the temp stays locked at 78 degrees. With 5G, It would take longer than my 3G. If the pull up difference is too large (super cold room), it would not be able to pull it up, needing a larger heater (of course). So far, it’s been great. My Nerite snail crawls on it, keeping it clean.

I put the heater in my tank about 12 hours ago and it is still at room temperature (maybe just a little bit above it). Does it just take a long time to heat the tank? I have a 5.5 gallon tank. Or is there something wrong with it?
- I too have that same problem so I just called the company. They told me it could take 13 hours or longer to see a difference in water temp. That's ridiculous does not say that on Petco site or in paperwork now I have to go back to the store again tomorrow don't waste your money
